(The Center Square) – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers have arrested a Guatemalan national who was released by Illinois officials even though he was in the country illegally and charged with child sex abuse.
DHS said in a statement that ICE arrested Erik Giovanni Quiroa on April 22 after he attempted to flee in his vehicle. Giovanni Quiroa was convicted last year for aggravated sexual abuse of a 5-year-old child and sentenced to three years in prison.
DHS said Gov. J.B. Pritzker and his fellow Illinois politicians released Giovanni Quiroa into the community even though ICE had lodged a detainer with the Illinois Department of Corrections.

To me, this seems like exactly the type person who should be gotten rid of. Let Guatamala handle him, after being fully informed of his crimes and the laughable punishments he received. Not a first offender, BTW:
Giovanni Quiroa was previously convicted of aggravated battery with a firearm in 2011 and sentenced to 16 years in prison.
If he had been made to serve his full sentence for that crime, his child rape victim would have been spared because he would still be in until 2027.
But . . . I'm frequently told by Democrats and especially "not-Democrats" that I don't know what I'm talking about, the tomatoes need to be picked, etc. So, please: Enlighten me. Why was it a good idea for Illinois Democrats to try to protect this person from ICE?
