Progressive City Newspapers were once Democratic. Then they were Liberal. now they are Progressive Socialist on the way to Communist. In those areas they citizens get this endless stream of this type of propaganda. A half century ago half the children in the city I grew up in went to Parochial School. Today a good percentage of the schools and churches are closed. People were democrat in the city as it was mostly that. However, there were left leaning, moderate and conservative democrats. With about 20% of the city Republican. The changeover happened around the same time. For Catholics Vatican 2 became the norm. Not as strict as before. Newspapers in Prog cities became Liberal. The government started to become massive from the 1960's legislations on social programs. Cities and states raised taxes in huge percentages. Even with the Republican Revolution balancing the budget in the 1990's it was not done with real foundation cuts and the social programs kept expanding with no programs enacted. We then gave away our manufacturing in trade deals after selling our major name products overseas a decade and more before as huge companies closed down and could not compete with foreign nation who did it cheaper and better. Many of those privileged employees though got good pensions and a hefty check when their companies closed down. That took us to W. and Obama and onward.
