Sea levels rise by 'unexpected' amount in 2024: NASA

Expansion of seawater from warming, melting of glaciers and ice sheets.
no, ice sheets do not add to rise of sea levels, They are in the water already,

Arctic Ocean may have been covered by an ice shelf nearly ...

The Arctic ice sheet primarily refers to the Greenland Ice Sheet, which is the largest ice mass in the Northern Hemisphere. It covers about 80% of Greenland's landmass, spanning over 1.7 million square kilometers. This ice sheet is a significant factor in global sea level rise, containing enough ice to raise sea levels by approximately 25 feet, according to NOAA.

ohhkay. I didn't see that as an Ice sheet, it was a landmass glacier that would have a melt pattern like a every other glacier. Ice Sheets are in Antarctica and they go to the sea bottom. I see I interpret that differently then HAL

Tide. But don't get too complicated.
Expansion of seawater from warming, melting of glaciers and ice sheets.
Yes, and about 30% more rise than Nasa expected in 2024.

My point about tidal rise and fall is too complicated because the denialists still continue to compare photos that are a hundred years apart, that show tid height equal. Then their denialism causes them to offer that as proof that the mean sea level hasn't changed.

Complicated?

No more than the denialist's educated expert saying that AGW and ACC are real.

are you suggesting that tidal water never flooded land in the past? It seems with this post that's where you just ran off to.

no, ice sheets do not add to rise of sea levels, They are in the water already,
No, but too complicated to explain. Keep it simple and just accept that AGW is real.

Keep it simple! Ding, our self-proclaimed, foremost amateur expert got burnt just recently by trying to argue AGW against Ms. Curry, the denialist's expert.

So, a rounding error that's inconsequential.
Correct. Sea levels are rising because we are adding carbon to our climate cycle.

This is a fact, and the debate is over. Scientists have moved past this and are now looking at ways to mitigate the problem.

One answer is good for all the denialists, and I've made it as simple as it can be:

It’s warming. The warming is caused by us. Warming is dangerous. We need to urgently transition to renewable energy to stop the warming. Once we do that, sea-level rise will stop and the weather won’t be so extreme.

Anybody who finds that too complicated should just take a number and be seated.

Lol!! Tide??

Tide change is over 50 feet in some places and it's under 4 feet in others.

Too complicated for this forum. Even the most brain dead can see that the height of the water in the cement pond is the same all the way around.

Do they have one sits that’s underwater?

Thermal expansion.
Yes but not for the reason you're thinking. Let's make that the lesson for today..

But it's good that you're trying to learn.

A hint for the class: C02.

They have a road that's covered by 50 feet of sea water.

Let's just say that the god did it and it's too complicated for this board.

Fascinating!

Hey... where is the extra heat coming from that is causing thermal expansion?

I mean, the scientists know, but apparently you dont.
Don't tell them. Let them learn for themselves and they won't be in such a hurry to flap their gums.
