Sarah Palin resigning as Governor of Alaska

I hope you have a good three hours to read it.

Where were you, in a coma?

I unplugged for a few days. Pretty therapudic, actually.

I bet! How nice for you!

OK, get your reading glasses on, and prepare to laugh and laugh some more!

Hey! Twenty five hundred and fifty words, If you are a slow reader like I am, reading only about 250 words per minute, you can read it in 10 minutes. Have you read all 650 posts in this thread? And you can't be troubled to read the very words the whole darn thing is about? I fail to see much humor in that, guys....for shame.

YAWN---The kitchen sink has been thrown at Sarah Palin from A to Z--ethic charges--etc. etc. Each & every one has found her innocent.

This is just another left-winger spreading a rumor--in an effort to drive her completely out of politics.

This is one the reasons-- as she stated-- she is leaving the Govenors office. She is dedicating too much time & money fighting off all of these frivilous charges. It's just too bad--the left wingers who are filing these frivilous charges don't have to pay for them themselves, or at least re-pay her the 500K she has spent.

Time will tell what motivated Palin to resign.

To date no indictments have been handed down, have they?

Then really, aside from either bitching about Palin, or praising her, what can any of us really say about this event?

I hate it when people are convicted before charges are even made.

I don't like Palin at all, but this speculation is sort of pointless.

She told you why she resigned. I don't think she could have been more clear. She's tired of her family getting attacked--spending 500K of her own money-- to fight off all the frivilous charges that have been launched at her, of which she has been found innocent of each & every one.

WHO WOULD STAY to face that each & every day?

Oh, man.

I haven't been in tune to any real media all weekend and then I log on to uncover this gem.

This should be an interesting thread ...

I hope you have a good three hours to read it.

unplugged? Isn't that playing a guitar acoustically? What does "unplugged" mean? Hold on, my Blackberry's going off. You were saying?

Exactly so. And then these leftist assholes accuse Republicans of engaging in the politics of personal destruction. Hell they invented that crap. It's only been recently that Americans paid any attention to these smears. Find me one Republican in the last sixty years that either ran for or gained the Presdency that the Democrats didn't almost automatically call stupid.

Of course to the leftwing of the Democratic Party anyone who disagrees with them is stupid. Never m in that the Mjority of them are so retarded that they thing government can replace God.

Ok ...

So basically Sarah Palin, the genius or moron, cowardly or smartly resigned because of an impending scandal due to political assassination at the hands of the liberals or to go to President school ... everyone on the board is a moron or a partisan hack ... Publilicious is back to accepting and noting concessions on some record that he believes we are all keeping ... and Chris thinks Obama is like Mickey Mouse slaying all Muslim extremists with one blow.

That about sum it up?

The only real surprise in the thread was that Willow's inevitable meltdown was actually short and mild.

You know, if you think about this carefully, it becomes readily apparent.......

Sarah Pain in the Ass Palin has decided to step down. Why? She's a lame duck governor now, and she doesn't want to have to deal with all the investigations that are coming down on her.

She also saw some of that fat cash the lobbyists and PAC groups have, and, after her failed VP run, she's decided that being in the public is too hard, so she's gonna go work it from the sidelines.

I'm willing to bet that she's a lobbyist by this time next year.

You need to unplug again. I didn't have a meltdown. Just told it like it is. She quit because assholes on the left persecuted her children. I would like to see her sue the Lecherman! End of story!

The lady was constantly under attack. Who in their right mind wants to be treated they way her family and herself had been treated. I hope the left puts out a women with a mentally handicapped child so they could see how you handle political differences with class and without bringing in people's kids. Sick bastards.

If Letterman and the left broke her, just imagine what the Putin's of the world would do to her.

She quit because when the going gets tough, the Palins quit.

I never understood what made her qualified in the first place to be second in line to the presidency. But oh well, atleast the left still has Obama and that senile old dumbass Biden.
Accomplishments in a politically tough state, with an imbedded old boy system which no one else before her had been able to buck, and to breakout of the established inertia; that's what qualified her; a skill set that Obama does not exhibit, although he pretended to own.

Oh LOOK at all that confidence kids... she's just BRIMMING with bravado from all her vast experience, wherein the unapologetic advocacy of sound principle has succumbed to the weight of tired cliches and empty platitudes...

Changing your tune on Sarah are you?

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

How so? By pointing out that your feminzied ass is brimming with false bravado, based upon no experience which could possibly sustaint the absurd conclusions which you're prone to imply or otherwise project; conclusions which can't possibly be sustained through the empty platitudes and tired cliches you affer up as the basis of your reasoning?

ONCE AGAIN; a leftist comes to demonstrate their inability to reason on even the most fundamental levels... which simply provides yet another example of why these people are to be ostricized and NEVER allowed within 10 miles of a voting booth.

I think the more noble reasons you've arrived at are correct, but her destroyers will come anyway; the left never stops until they have a stake in your heart, or until a better victim offers itself up, then they might, in part, be distracted, but only temporarily. I would imagine she will have lots of offers to speak before conservative audiences.

She also saw some of that fat cash the lobbyists and PAC groups have, and, after her failed VP run, she's decided that being in the public is too hard, so she's gonna go work it from the sidelines.
I think not; instead I think that she will use whatever cache she has for public appearances for those big-bucks. Those "sidelines" would actually work for her; the more they attack the more attractive she will become to paying audiences. As for lobbying, she bucked the establishment, which didn’t leave her very many openings back into a system everyone else will find money in trying to restore to the status-quo-ante her arrival on the political scene. She doesn't have much potential along those lines.

Some lobbying, IE speaking up for disadvantaged folks, will be inevitable though. Your attorney could be called a lobbyist, when he or she presents your case before a planning commission, or any local governing body meeting in public or private.

I'm willing to bet that she's a lobbyist by this time next year.

We shall see. Print out a copy of this and slide it into your desk drawer; then pull it out a year from now as a test of your political acuity...it might be interesting for you.

Governor Palin said:
... Life is too short to compromise time and resources... it may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: "Sit down and shut up", but that's the worthless, easy path; that's a quitter's way out. And a problem in our country today is apathy. It would be apathetic to just hunker down and “go with the flow”. Nah, only dead fish "go with the flow". No. Productive, fulfilled people determine where to put their efforts, choosing to wisely utilize precious time... to BUILD UP.

And there is such a need to BUILD up and FIGHT for our state and our country. I choose to FIGHT for it! And I'll work hard for others who still believe in free enterprise and smaller government; strong national security for our country and support for our troops; energy independence; and for those who will protect freedom and equality and LIFE... I'll work for and campaign for those PROUD to be American, and those who are INSPIRED by our ideals and won't deride them.

I WILL support others who seek to serve, in or out of office, for the RIGHT reasons, and I don't care what party they're in or no party at all. Inside Alaska – or Outside Alaska.
But I won’t do it from the Governor’s desk....

Oh... It's ON!

Let the Leftist wetting-of-beds continue...

Exerts from this morning's WSJ editorial.

The political class is flummoxed by Sarah Palin's decision to quit as Alaska Governor, and understandably so. Giving up on an executive job a year and a half early isn't the best way to persuade voters you're ready for the more demanding rigors and scrutiny of the White House.

Mrs. Palin's explanation on Friday was hardly clear or persuasive, wandering from the taxpayer expense of various ethics probes, to the self-indulgence of lame-duck Governors who serve out their terms, to the fact that she and her family had concluded she can better serve the people out of public office. Some Alaskans, including many of her admirers, can be forgiven if they conclude she bugged out when the going got rough. ...

The more troubling question is whether the 45-year-old is also calculating that this is the best way for her to seek the White House in 2012. If so, she's probably mistaken. Her main claim on executive experience is the Alaskan state house, and giving it up early diminishes an otherwise solid record, especially in challenging GOP elites, and reneges on a promise to voters. Millions of conservatives admire her reform credentials and her personal story, but to win the White House she needs to persuade millions of others, including independents, that she has the policy depth and personal judgment to be President. ...

On the evidence so far, Mrs. Palin isn't yet up to that task. Whether she will be in two years, or six or 10, will depend on whether she's willing to do the hard policy work that can add substance to her natural political talents.
