Sarah Palin resigning as Governor of Alaska

Seriously, your attempt to engage in "commentary" here is plainly devoid of even a hint of meaning.

You might want to be here for more than eight days before calling two of the mods and long-time members out as "partisan hacks," especially these two mods, and especially when you are making threads about liberals being either fundamentally dishonest or stupid.

Just some advice.

So Bush I and II and Reagan were assholes?

you lefties are assholes.. you have no morals,, no character..live with it, it's your legacy!

Oh stop whining, before you open your mouth and eat your words you should wait and see what is the real reason for her resignation. Right now it is too early to tell, and if she couldn't handle the criticism then she was never cut out for national politics. Reagan and both Bush's were attacked by the same so called liberal media and they still managed to finish the terms the public elected them to.

I'm not whining just pointing out fact, I was here on this message board during the primaries and during the election.. It's your legacy, no morals no character you just destroy that's who you are.

You might want to try some reading comprehension yourself before offering you flatulent advice.

The point remains: it is MOSTLY (albeit not exclusively) the libbies who are attacking Palin for resigning. Are there some more-or-less conservatives also jumping on that little wagon? Of course. And guess what? It's yet MORE largely partisan political crap. Newsflash: many REPUBLICANS were behind some of the snarking attacks on Gov. Palin during her run for V.P. Why? Partisan politics or just plain old fashioned politics. It hardly matters.

You guys cannot address the real issue here. I personally couldn't care less if she runs for President or not. At this point, based on what I've witnessed her saying and doing, I have concluded that she is not properly prepared. She has a LOT to learn before I would support her.

Nevertheless, if she IS going to be attacked upon entering the next Presidential Election Cycle regardless of whether she resigns as Governor or NOT, then to attack her because she resigned is meaningless.

Braying jackasses aside, I have seen only ONE post attempt to state the case that she should be indifferent to an attack on the basis of NOT resigning. Maybe. Maybe not. But I believe she can be JUST as indifferent to any attack premised on her decision TO resign. In fact, I think the decision to resign makes more sense and is actually more honorable.

Ah, let him keep it up, it's funny!

Funny in ways you seem unable to imagine.

I agree, though. It is funny!

By the way, I DID give you a positive rep point. Save them for valuable prizes!

But I'd rather have more of your witty, non-partisan posts, they mean so much more!

Now, again, without any bull, what do you think she resigned for?

1)Do you think she resigned to take care of her family? Be a stay at home mom?

2) Or do you think she did it to take a different career path, ala talk show, book tour. etc.?

3) Or, do you think she did it because she has another political aspiration up her sleeve?

OK, now answer my non-partisan question Liability.

I'd like to see you say something genuinely witty. We can't always get what we like.

Oh, and by the way, there's nothing wrong with BEING a partisan in and of itself.

Please tell me that you aren't one of the ones who imagines that "partisan" = "bad." It's not, you know.

Reading is fundamental. I ALREADY answered "your" question. I already noted (and got mocked for asserting it) that I believe she is going to make a run for the Presidency.

Is her resignation the best way to go about doing that? I dunno. Arguments can be made both pro and con.

Is she presently the best conservative and/or Republican candidate for the job? Not necessarily. I believe she has MUCH to learn, first.

There you go, a much better answer than before.

I personally think she was doing it to spend more time with her family. She does have 5 kids, a child with Down Syndrome and a grandchild. I would think the big arena of political life got to be too much for her, and she couldn't be with her family like she needed to be.

I know how hard it is for parents out there, but when there is a special needs child involved it's even tougher for them.

I too think the Republicans could choose someone better to represent them in the 2012 Race, just not sure who yet.

I am so glad to see you say that Liability. I always LMAO at people that try and pretend they aren't partisan!! Of course we are. Every last one of us.

I had already said as much. You DO need to pay closer attention.

Your posts improve when YOU stick to the topic, btw, rather than try to engage in "banter."

You aren't all that good at it.

On a somewhat related side-note:

Maureen Dowd {DRUDGE REPORT: MAUREEN DOWD TRASHES 'NUTTY' PALIN 2009® } is an insufferable, churlish, skanky *****.

I cannot fathom why so many libs seem to adore her so. She is boring and unoriginal. Of course she's opinionated. Big deal. But she's so plodding, trite and predicatable in how she articulates her "thoughts," when she's not just plagiarizing them, that is, that she offers nothing that cannot be read ( providing exactly the same amount of "insight") by just scanning the Democratic Underground or the Daily Kos.

ROFL...

She's clearly taking a national run seriously...

MM makes good sense with the Senate idea...

But I think Governor Palin sees the currect Administration as a very real and present threat to the Republic and has taken steps to be more effective in the Mid-term elections.

But it is HYSTERICAL how those on this board who so often sought to down play Governor Palins position; are now clammering on about how critical that job was to her character; he chances and every other facet of consideration.

LOL...

They'll be much wetting of MANY a pant over this one. The most effective Conservative of this time; has just cut herself free of the only thing that kept her out of the hunt.

 Oh SNAP!

there is also an ethics law on the books in Alaska that makes it an ethics violation for a sitting governor to visit other states for purposes other than Alaska State Business

thus for her to "campaign" in the lower 48 would be an ethics violation

Her resignation makes her look weak and muddle-headed IF she plans to run for President because it looks like she abandoned her responsibilities for craven political ambition. (I don't know about Senate because I don't know the Alaska landscape. Maybe it helps her.) But it makes perfect sense if she says "screw it, I'm outta here." If she resigned because of her family, I'd respect her for that.

Of course, all the conservatives defending her honor will look like morons if she did resign because of scandal, but I'm taking her at her word and assuming that there is nothing untoward in her resignation.
But will the liberals look like morons for attacking her if it turns out that she resigned without scandal?
I think they will, but I suspect they will think they don't.

Of course they will...

Palin is the only real threat to Leftist Federal Power; so they are going to attack her relentlessly and without regard to what she does.

They spent 4 months talking own her Governorship; in October of last year; the Governor of Alaska was lower than the Mayor of Bugtussle... Today and for the next week, it will that same position will be the shrine which embodies the semblence of power and cultural responsibility itself.

They're liars and simpletons... let 'em rant; it's going to be a GAS!
