Taliban need 1) political support 2) money 3) weapons, and this is what Moscow thugs are giving to them for years

If we wanted real Peace with Russia, pushing NATO forces right up to their border, to include the BALTICS, was probably a bad idea.

How could any Russian Nationalist, not see that as a threat?

We could have had HUNDREDS of miles of buffer, if we had just kept the border in Germany.

So...how is this any different than what we did? The most important question is' Why in the hell are we there in the first place?

First reply and this thread is over. I will never understand how we get so upset at countries that do the very thing we have done.

It's easy. If you don't want our soldiers targeted, bring them home where they belong. When you do stupid things, bad things will happen.
There is nothing to disagree with in your post. The issue is why is the Trump Administration silent while Russians target US troops in Afghanistan? Why hasn’t Trump condemned Russia? Why is Trump still pushing for Russian membership in the G-7? Why isn’t the Administration contemplating additional Sanctions against Russia?

I am not nor will I ever be a Trump supporter but like I said, how does one condemn someone else for something we so readily do ourselves?
Yes, we have done it ourselves while the Cold War was raging. You would think that given Russia’s own concern about Muslim extremism within it borders they would not be enthusiastic for a return of the Taliban to power.

Be that as it may, yes we may have taken similar action in the past, but that does not mean we remain silent while Russia targets US troops or that we reward Russia by pushing its membership in the G-7.

Amazing how many traitorous USMB members we have here who are willing to accept Putin paying a bounty for American military personnel scalps and Donald Trump doing nothing about it.

Yeah, they are in bad shape. So are we. That is not reason to trust our intelligence agencies that have demonstrated that they cannot be trusted. That is not reason to trust our media, who are basically a nest of traitors.

THe Cold War ended. We still have not had a real discussion on what our national security goals, or even issues are in the wake of that. We are bumbling around, basically randomly.

And we are so divided that we cannot have any serious policy discussion.

We should leave NATO before we bumble into WWIII.

Just because Trump's enemies- the NYT and/or the Intelligence community- say it happened, doesn't mean that it did.

The CSIS Russia and Eurasia Program is pleased to invite you to a discussion with Dr. Phillip Karber, President of the Potomac Foundation, a defense and foreign policy think-tank. Dr. Karber, who is also a former DOD official and veteran defense analyst, will discuss Russia's "hybrid warfare" campaign in eastern Ukraine. Dr. Karber has traveled repeatedly to eastern Ukraine during the present conflict, and has spoken first-hand with a number of the participants. Dr. Karber will draw on these discussions to elaborate on the techniques of Russian hybrid warfare, evaluate their effectiveness, and explore their implications for both Ukraine and the West.

Even when we catch Russians paying to murder Americans and Trump doing nothing about it, sucking slurping tea bagger trumpoholics will defend fellow traitor Liar in Chief Trump.

A story in the Fake News NY Times isn't an "intelligence report".

BTW, it is a crime to leak intelligence reports to the media, so personally, I don't think that's what this is. Why would someone risk their pension to betray their country? Makes no sense. Judas RECEIVED 30 pieces of silver he didn't pay, to betray Almighty God.

What are you wanting him to do? Start a war with Russia?

We did the same towards Russia. Should Russia have attacked the US?

Trump should at the very least not be pulling troops from Germany and weakening NATO, campaigning for Russia's re-entry into G-7, and re-install sanctions he has eliminated. He has a long list of options if he would stand up and stop being a Putin ass kisser.
