TTIP was never finished. The Commies and Socialists in Germany had the same problem (and other problems) with TTIP and fought against it. But it makes sense to install independent courts which help to find good solutions or will decide in case of conflicts in trade relations - independent from governments. Donald Trump makes such courts now only more plausible. Economy and politics in such dimensions need a long term perspective and not a getaway into the techniques of the 19th century and decisions with a half life period of 2 hours.

And your auto makers are just going to shut down and leave. They aren't imports and they are here because of Trade disputes in the past. Same reason Japan built them here. We put Trade restrictions and quotas on them back in the day, so they moved here to avoid losing business. If they leave, which they will not.........American Cars and Trucks will be the winner. How often said I meanwhile here that you are using 22% where we use 25% (and sometimes only 10%). And we use 10% where you use 2.5%. Not a big problem. And how you can read in the manual "president for dummies" an US-American president who makes this to his priority and likes to change this has to speak with the EU and not with the German government or German car manufacturers. The exports of Germany are by the way in most cases Inner-European trades.

In general make US-American companies with goods and services more money in Europe than European companies make money in the USA.

And to make this clear to you: Donald Trump produced meanwhile very heavy damages in international relations which had needed decades to grow.
