Ronnie says Negro! No one cares!

In case you born yesterday thumb-suckers don't know.

Out of respect--back in the late 1970'--& early 1980's the only way to address a black person was to refer to them as Negro's.

The term African American did not exist during the Reagan years. The term African American didn't start until the 1990's.

Ah, now you went and spoiled the entire premise of this thread!!!

Poor libs don't have a leg to stand on now...:eusa_angel:

I swear nothing exposes the hypocrisy of partisan hacks more than these stupid, meaningless episodes of political incorrectness. Of course this was neither racist nor any big deal, and only offensive to hyper-sensitive twats. But but but....

I do so enjoy seeing the same people who lost their shit over Obama being called a boy doing a complete 180 on this one.

And vice-versa.
 People here call Obama boy all the time...I'm positive that they wouldn't consider themselves racist.

btw, what ever happened to that Republican politician that called Obama boy on the national stage while McCain looked on with approval? Did he or McCain step down?:eusa_hand:

Actually it was the sixties but don't worry, no one blames Ronnie for saying Negro.

Nice non-sequitur. :eusa_hand:

Sure.....typical....spew crap like (paraphrased) Rush is a proven racist...and then leave it up to me to find something he said that was not racist...which is heard EVEYDAY on his radio show. Anything even remotely spun to be racist would be all over the media....but I do not see it....EVER......all I ever heard him criticized for as it pertains to race was his donovan macnabb comment.....of how many years ago?

And then of course you run like a child after saying it.

are you really this stupid?

I work. I have a family. I have friends. I have a LIFE. I go HOME at the end of the day.

Have a problem with that?

As they said in the old days, tell it to the marines. :cuckoo:

Ok, its official, you're a moron.

Calling a black man a "boy" is a racial slur.

Discussing demographic reality, however inelegantly, is not. :disbelief:

All Asians do not look alike either, not even close, OMG.... where have you BEEN?????

Of course they don't, but they do to many people not raised in that group. Likewise there are Asians who have a difficult time telling white people's faces apart. Within a culture you learn to recognize different sets of traits from early childhood - to distinquish one person from another.

Since our world is now "diverse" -that is all of us, unless we live in a cave in the far hinterlands, one can look around, see the monumental variety that is humanity, and take note of and appreciate it!

Ron is dead. Let him rest in peace.

Sen. Byrd is alive and he said "White *******" and that's O....K!!!!

reagan having achieved ambient temperature excuses your hypocrisy?

It seems likely that maineman thinks that his phrase "ambient temperature" is a clever way of speaking.

He is, naturally, wrong.

Nothing "clever" about it whatsoever. Such plodding, grunting use of worn-out political rhetoric is actually kind of boring and uninspired.

Moreover, he also failed to establish that making a distinction from President Reagan's use of the word "Negro" in the context in which the late President used it was in any way akin to the manner in which Sen. Reid recently used it. Thus, maineman also failed to establish that there was any hypocrisy involved in the post he pretends to criticize.

Curious...when did Ronnie imply that the darker your skin, the less viable candidate you would be for President of the United States?
If he did say that, he would have been correct. Ask any black person in America.

precisely

OK Mr. Precisely.

Shall I start to list the MANY things about different races and ethnic groups that are correct but INSENSITIVE to utter?

This was not an issue of Reid saying something untrue.

It is an issue of Reid saying something that is VERY insensitive to people.

Why must all of you on the left spin this as if it were nothing. IT WAS SOMETHING OR REID WOULD NOT HAVE FELT THE NEED TO APOLOGIZE TO SHARPTON AND OBAMA.

So tell me Mr. Precisely.....exactly what is untrue about what Rush said about McNabb?

All Asian, Negro, and Indian people look alike. This is how God made them. God made the white race unique and wonderful. I can't help how the Lord God constructed mankind.

It was NOT UNTIL 2002 that some dictionaries began saying that using the word Negro was politically and socially incorrect...

Negro is derived from the word for Black in Latin, niger...negro in Spanish and Portuguese means black.

Bullshit.

The only material difference between the two is one faux pas was made by a republican, the other by a democrat.

But of course your posting track record shows conclusively that this makes all the difference in the world to you. Hack!

Wait...you agreed that the boy comment was racist. And IIRC, you said Hillary was racist because she said people wouldn't vote for a black man.

:eusa_whistle:

So in other words Reid said two things that were true, but deemed by most as politically incorrect...and a better way to put it....racially insensitive.

Yet he is given a pass as it is the truth.

If politicians do not feel and experience the negative ramifications of being politically incorrect, then why should their employers (the people)?

Nope...Hillary not a racist...simply racially insensitive.
You do realize that if a worker in an office says something that is true but considered racially insensitive, the employer has grounds for immediate dismissal?

Just sayin'

What the hell is racially insensitive? I don't think she was...and even though mani now denies it he did at the time.

Such inconsistent posters. :doubt:

There are no grounds for immediate dismissal even for being racist...unless you are abusing your authority.

I don't deny that I said Hillary's comments were racist... because they were.

But I never claimed the boy comment was racist... because it wasn't.

Glad I could clear that up for you Ravi. :)
