The Banks certainly played a big part in the Financial Melt Down.If the New York Fed, and Barney and Dodd had done their jobs the impact might have been less chaotic.
The New York Fed and Barney and Dodd deserved a thorough and complete investigation. It didn't happen.

So did Chris Cox, who was Bush's boy at the FEC. His staff was too busy watching Porn to actually investigate the banks.

But here's the problem with your whine here. Let's all admit that Cox and Frank and Dodd and the Chairman of the Fed were all very poor watchdogs. At the end of the day, the chickens were still stolen by foxes, and blaming the watchdogs is kind of silly.

To date, none of the Foxes have gone to prison, and that's the problem.

If it is true, which I do believe, first, Americans greed from top to bottom, rooted in the false value of thinking people can receive worth in excess of an item's intrinsic assessment, was responsible for the Recession. Second is the stupidity those Americans held close to their heart with their cupidity that they would be exempt from paying the piper when the debt came due.

For those of us who saw as early as 2002 what was happening, immediately eliminated useless debt as quickly as possible, and waited. We have been buying in four states at proper prices and are making money hands over fist. We were not greedy. We prepared. We prosper. And are preparing for the economy of Europe to shatter, if that comes to pass. We are prepared.

Obviously I missed the era of Chelsea Clinton serving her country in the military while reaping the benefits of being an American.

Or the Bush's daughters.

And by your standards, hell's bells we better see Obama's two lovely daughters signing up for military service for all the benefits they have reaped as Americans.

Now I'm pointing out all of these President's children that have not served in jest. I don't expect everyone in the nation to have the capability of meeting the requirements for the Armed Forces.
