Obviously he was told that his promotion to full Colonel was his last promotion due to his overt political leanings (right or Left doesn't matter).
Vindman showed political bias on more than one occassion and his position and testimony before Congress wearing is uniform sealed his military career to Colenel. He would never see Brigadier General...
No problem though, Vindman walks away from the military with a retirement pay of $100,000 not including his Social Security, or 401 k plan....
