So, these fine, upstanding thugs start the robbery by shooting the clerk in Hyde legs....too bad for them the clerk is not an anti gunner....draws,his own gun and kills 2 of the 3 thugs...

What this shows...

-he was ambushed and shot at the start of the encounter...still managed to get his own gun and drive off the attackers

-did not spray and pray

-they did not disarm him and use his own gun against him....

Good. Two more over with.

Just a thought. Why do we have so many "armed" robbers? Do other developed countries have this problem?

If you're pointing toward gun control, you must be reminded that "armed" refers to being in possession of a weapon, not necessarily a firearm.

Though the numbers in the link below are from 1993-2001, I doubt they have changed significantly since then.

...and of course, all developed countries have armed robberies. Some just deny their citizens the legal right to defend themselves with firearms. Britain has made firearms hard to get, so the thugs revert to knives and likely cricket bats.

that between 1993 and 2001 approxi-

mately 26% of the average annual 8.9

million violent victimizations were

committed by offenders armed with

a weapon. About 10% of the violent

victimizations involved a firearm.

..and here's another interesting article on guns and crime rates.
Gun Crime Soars in England Where Guns Are Banned - Katie Pavlich
Since NBC sportscaster Bob Costas gave us an anti-gun lecture two weeks ago during Sunday Night Football, we've heard a lot from progressives like Juan Williams, Bob Beckel and anti-gun advocacy groups about how countries in Europe with strict gun control laws don't have problems with gun crime. We've also heard the reason the United States has a "gun crime problem" is because we allow citizens to own handguns however, the numbers on violent crime committed using a gun tell a different story.
