A friend of mine back in the 80's did some bouncing at some clubs where Hulk and other wrestlers often went to. One night, Hulk walked right by my friend and my friend looked at him and said "Please, don't cause any trouble." My friend was a talented black belt by probably 100 pounds less too.

Note: earlier this week I was watching Vice's "Dark Side of the Ring" episode on "Superstar" Billy Graham, who inspired much of Hogan's schtick.

Gee, back in 1979 or 1982 or whenever it was that the (billed as) greatest wrestling event of all time and Hulk Hogan went up against Andre The Giant, that one of these two would outlive the other by 32 1/2 years.

I doubt there's anyone in America who doesn't know who he is, who can't see his distinctive features and presence, who can't hear his exuberant hyperbole in their head.

But less well known is that he was also a huge philanthropist supporting many worthy charities like the Special Olympics and Make a Wish Foundation. He focused on those organizations who helped people, especially kids, facing severe challenges.

RIP Hulk. You left a mark on the world that most of us can only envy.

Because it’s so incredibly rare for a 77 year old man to have had heart surgery, the only possible explanation is steroid use from decades ago?
