RIP Hulk Hogan.

It is completely scripted, which is to say that the conduct of the spectacle and its outcome are determined in advance, and yet EVERYONE - wrestlers, referees, announcers, and fans - goes along with the fiction that it is a real competition. Yet is is supposed to be more than just a competition; it is a FIGHT. The only people who take it seriously are adolescent boys and morons.

To be honest, if you've listened to enough wrestlers, they will tell you that while the matches are fairly scripted, that sometimes it does become personal between the contestants, and for whatever reason, the fights become real.

I've seen more than a few bouts where it came to brutal blows, obvious dislike for each other, and there was blood everywhere.

I've never been a wrestling fan, but I always enjoyed seeing Dusty Rhodes on TV, flipping through the channels in the late 1970s. He was maybe the archetype of the larger-than-life trash talker. And he could back it up. Or, at least the script called for him to back it up.

This sentiment always kind of annoys me.

Yes it’s scripted. But equally true is that these guys could back it up in real life anytime they wanted to.

You don’t get that big without being able to kick the ass of 99% of the average male population.

The suggestion that professional wrestlers would be pansies or something in a real life fight is ridiculous

The real talent and athleticism was in Not getting your neck broken when you pick a man up and drop him from 6 feet up.

Well, that does take strength far beyond the average man’s ability, and building such muscle and strength requires far more gym time and commitment than the average guy’s willing to carry out.

It may not be a sport, but it involves as much athleticism as any

'A “cardiac arrest” call was placed and medics were sent to Hogan’s home in Clearwater, Fla, TMZ reports.

He was stretchered into an ambulance.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated.'

All you Hulkamaniacs out there, express your condolences here.

Of course, RIP BROTHER! No one was bigger than him. My two buddies who are also wrestling fans agree with me I want to see what you guys all think. We agree Hulk is no doubt the GOAT. He's just not our GOAT. I didn't ask them who is their GOAT I can only say mine is the Rock. I never enjoyed another wrestler as much as I did him as soon as he figured out who he was and how to talk on the mic. To me, no one compared to the ROCK on the microphone.

And Hogan did the same routine in the ring every time. So he wasn't even the best WRESTLER of all time. But he is still the GOAT. Sorry Rick Flair and John Cena and anyone else who thinks they are the GOAT. You are not. Hogan is.

When I first saw the title, I thought to myself, "Who did they murder this time".

This is actually a very sad verdict what your country has become. Seriously, your country is a cesspool.

Actually, as many wrestlers including Hogan have stated, even if the fights are scripted, there are people you like and people you don't like. And if anyone thinks that these battles go on in the ring with tables, chairs, etc., between two behemoths and the stuff doesn't hurt and people don't get injured, jumping, landing, punching, kicking, flying through the air, they are just fooling themselves.

I've seen many a fight where wrestlers were bleeding, and had cuts, bruises, marks and contusions all over their bodies. This is why after about a year, most wrestlers go on a 1-2 year long sabbatical--- to heal up.

A relative took his young sons to some tournament back in the day and the kids got to meet Hulk Hogan at a meet and greet. He was a god to them at that age. Said he was super awesome with all the young kids while staying in over the top character and all that, making sure he talked directly with each one that was there and horseplayed a little with the ones who were amped up. Of course, then my relatives' sons came home and beat the stuffings out of each other for the next week wrestlin' in the house while ripping their shirts off. LOL.

Proof that people, especially kids, emulate what they see on TV. And you wonder why the CIA conducted that project called Manchurian or Mockingbird or whatever the **** it was, there are so many of them that I can't even keep track, where they found out to their delight that they could brainwash people by putting certain content on TV.

I always found that fake crap offensive to real wrestling. My older brothers REALLY beat the crap out of me all the time until I got good enough to make that a bad choice.
