Here are the Federal tax rates. The minimum rate is 10%.
If you want to eliminate tax deductions, that would generate a lot more revenue.

I understand the federal tax rates and I know how people wind up with zero or even negative federal income tax rates. We already have something called the Alternative Minimum Tax Rate. Something like that should be used for everyone. No one should pay zero percent or less.

lol you either can't read or you are clueless. So you disapprove of adjusting the standard deduction for inflation?

Here we go, off to personal insults. This is adult political conversation, are you up to it? I believe that we should have the deductions and adjustments BUT there should be a minimum tax percentage. Think of it like the Alternative Minimum Income Tax. You use all your deductions and wind up owing zero or less than zero, then you pay a straight 3%, whichever is greater.

lol you aren't an adult, and they are accurate descriptions, not insults.

are you up to it?

Only with those who can carry one, which doesn't include you. of course.

The 'poor' pay all kinds of taxes, and usually at a much higher percentage of their incomes than most middle class people do, and certainly more than the majority of the wealthy pay already. As for 'deductions' they qualify for a lot less of those than the middle class and wealthy have as well, too. Warren Buffet wasn;t lying when he pointed out he paid less intaxes than his secretary did.
