True. Econ 101 tells you that if you increase the cost of something, there will be less of it. Like if you increase the cost of hiring through mandates and taxes then there will be less of it. Totally not real world experience. Right?

Economics, particularly marco-econ is, I suspect going to be seen as the fools' science of the century.

If it was really the powerful proscriptive diagnostic/prognostic tool that some of you imagine it to be, we'd never ever EVER have a recession or depression, the world would be a paradise with plenty enough for all.

The things that we cannot predict are now and will always be the problem.

Periodically some Black Swan event will upset the nature of the way we do business, and no economist in the world is every going to stop that from happening.
