2-WEEK CEASEFIRE

HORMUZ IS NOW OPEN

Democrats will be so sad at peace breaking out.

“This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE! The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump said he received a 10-point proposal from Iran, calling it a "workable basis on which to negotiate."

"Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated," he wrote."

I think we have to wait to see what Iran has to say. I don't believe they have agreed to open the Strait yet.

Dotard needed an off ramp and Pakistan provided it.

A comprehensive failure of the American political process.
Getting Iran to seriously negotiate and make concessions is a very good start.
If we need to "mow the grass" again in the future, meh...

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed Tehran's acceptance and said Iran would allow "safe passage" of the Strait of Hormuz during those two weeks "via coordination with Iran's armed forces."

Let's all hope Bibi doesn't blow up this fragile ceasefire.

The United States and Iran announced a two-week cease-fire and plans to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday evening, hours before President Trump had threatened that Iran would see its “whole civilization” destroyed if it did not allow free transit through the vital waterway.

The agreement that was brokered by Pakistan was hailed as a victory by both countries. Mr. Trump said a 10-point plan from Iran was a “workable basis on which to negotiate” a lasting end to the war after demanding Tehran’s “unconditional surrender” for weeks. Iranian officials were triumphant, with Mohammad Reza Aref, the country’s first vice president, saying on social media that “the era of Iran” had begun after Trump failed to destroy the Islamic republic’s government. Iran also said it would fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a vital waterway for oil and natural gas shipments, while negotiations take place to secure a permanent deal.

In Lebanon, the Israeli military said that the cease-fire did not cover its offensive against Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed militant group in Lebanon. It was also unclear whether word of the nascent deal had reached Iranian local commanders, as fresh Iranian attacks were reported in some Persian Gulf countries early Wednesday morning.

UK ‘not supporting’ U.S. Iran blockade as France’s Macron confirms ‘multinational’ talks on the Strait of Hormuz

The U.K. is “not supporting” the U.S. blockade of Iranian ports, Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Monday, insisting that the country would not get “dragged in” to the Iran war.

It came as President Emmanuel Macron confirmed France and the U.K. would, in the coming days, co-host a conference aimed at restoring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

Macron has not explicitly ruled out France’s involvement in the U.S. blockade but said the planned conference would create a “peaceful multinational” and “strictly defensive” mission, separate from the belligerents.

Time for a retraction.
