Why? Kamala Harris got exposed during her debates with Pence in 2020 and all she could do was sneer and shake her head at Pence. She provided to substance in her retorts yet the media lauded her as the clear winner.

If I were the GOP nominee, I would not pass up on the opportunity to debate whomever the DNC nominee is (de facto its going to be President Biden). For 4 hours plus...you get free air time nation wide on a dozen channels and countless streaming services, replays on every other streaming service who doesn't carry it live, a whole week of news stories, etc... If the Democrat has a bad debate (and that is totally possible), their bad performance gets shown time and again.

Its a lot like the stuff with Disney now. Disney is a worldwide conglomerate just like Amazon. Remember when AOC essentially torpedoed the Amazon site in NYC and every right wing loon here was saying, "see...look at all of those jobs they are killing". Today they are trying to do the same thing to Disney for some weird reason. The political gain is one thing. But I think they are just genetically pre-disposed to attack whatever is different from them. For all of it's flaws and faults and straight up Machiavellian-esque screwing of it's employees and extortion of countless parents, Disney offers an experience that is inclusive, accepting, and pleasant. Three things right wingers hate so the politicians capitalize on this. Their voters? Too deep in the cult to admit they were had.

I'll take your word for it. I focus, largely, on the national picture. If a school district in Florida bans Huck Finn, I could really care less since I don't live in Florida. My experience seems far different than yours. After military service in the Vietnam Era I was able to find a good job using the training I had received in the Air Force. I enjoyed that job and worked at a large corporation where I worked 37 years and retired just before I turned 60 which was almost 16 years ago. I have never worked a day since and anticipate no need to unless demented Joe Biden totally screws up the stock market. While I am not rich, I do not live on a budget.
