Republicans - Specifically Speaker Mike Johnson - are Doing a Poor Job of Explaining What Democrats Want in Their CR

You’re kidding right? The answer to your stupid inquiry is because of REPUBLICANS.
Really?
The Byrd rule (section 313 of the congressional act of 1974) limits the time a budget item can be in place with a 51 vote majority. The bill did not have 10 Senate votes from Republicans. You want to know how many it had? ZERO. Therefore the budget reconciliation rules wouldn’t allow it beyond 10 years.
Um . . . Exalted Cyclops Robert Byrd of the KKK was a Democrat Senator. I don't think the KKK allowed Republicans to join, not that any would want to.
You have very strong opinions for someone so uninformed. Maybe if you explain why you’d ask such an utterly disingenuous OR uninformed question
I asked to find out if you knew. Your answer explains why they did not make it permanent. But why did they not make it for ten years, If it is so important?
I will address the rest of the nonsense in your utterly nonsensical post. Please dare me.
I dare you.

I double dare you!

All the racists moved to the Republican Party in the late 60s. You guys know that because you either are them or you tolerate and court them.

LOL. The old “I knew, I was just seeing if YOU knew” debate tactic. What is this, 6th grade?

You asked why they weren’t made permanent and I answered that. If you want a history of the bill negotiations look up Manchin’s role in it and the overpowered red state representation in the senate. We could go on and on but I suspect it’s hopeless discussing the points with you. I mean.. you already know it all.
I dare you.

I double dare you!
Look. We started this because you said the 12M citizens losing their insurance was bullshit. You dared me to tell you where that was in the bill.

I showed you and you changed your tune to “yea, well, maybe they will lose their healthcare but they don’t deserve it.”

So basically you have no idea what you are talking about. Yes people are losing their healthcare whether you think they deserve it or not. Next time save all of us a lot of reading and just state “I don’t care that 12M American citizens will lose their healthcare”.

That absurd claim doesnt change that Byrd was a Republican.

Not at all what I meant.I didnt know why they didnt make it permanent. I wanted to know if you knew. You did so I asked another one.

Now I have found out that you don't know why the Dems did not make it for ten years, so you fall back on "look it up"

The answer is pretty obvious: they wanted us to think it was temporary as a COVID measure. Now it really will be.

That time I did know. I knew exactly who the "hardworking Americans" who shouldnt be getting Medicaid in the first place are. I wanted to see if you'd admit it.

Let them enjoy the Democrat gravy train in the time between Schumer caving and 2027 when the work requirements start.

Or they could look for a job?

I don't care how many American freeloaders have to get jobs tokerp Medicaid.

That number could be zero, if they would just make the effort to meet the new requirements. But that is up to them to decide.

Meanwhile, you apply the usual static reason of democrats that goes something like this: X millions of medicaid recipients don't have jobs, and you're not willing to work in the community. therefore, x millions of medicaid recipients will lose their medicaid when the new requirements come in.

You completely miss the point that new policies create new behavior just as the old policy is created, the old behavior. The old policies encouraged idleness, so that's what they got. The new policies will encourage diligence. Not all of the currently idle will show that required dligence, but I would guess that most will, rather than lose their benefits.

Democrats and Republicans define "Illegal allien" differently, and they and their media are depicting those differing definitions as Republicans lying.

Dems want to restore taxfunded health benefits to illegals who got assylum, or parole, or Temporary Protective Status when they were being granted en masse by the Autopen Administration.

In the minds of Democrats - and their media - those people are NOT illegal aliens. To Speaker Johnson, they are.

That difference in definitions allows the media to accuse him of lying and cite the federal law prohibiting "illegal aliens" from getting federal benefits.

Johnson needs to stop saying "illegal alien," and start saying "aliens granted mass assylum, often after having illegally entered the U.S." That would sell.

Here at his press conference today he says at 6:20:

"Why are we saying they want to return, restore taxpayer funded benefits to illegal aliens? Because that's what they did."

Then he directs Americans to page 57 of the Democrat proposal, which is on his speaker.gov website.

Few voters are going to go to look at that document, compare it to the BBB and see what the Dems want to repeal from it.

I'll do the homework. This is Schumer's proposed CR:

Here is that would take out of out of BBB:

Most Americans do not want to see their tax dollars used to pay for the healthcare of such aliens, even if the previous administrataion granted them "legal status."

Speaking of stupid, utterly disingenuous, uninformed nonsense, why did you cult sunset these subsidies after 3 years, rather than the 10?

Why is Johnson having a hard time?

Because he’s on the wrong side of this

78% of Dems and FIFTY SEVEN per cent of MAGA types agree with the Dems

When will Republicans learn that people want affordable healthcare?
There was a law passed during George Bush Jr's presidency that PROHIBITS by federal law providing taxpayer funded health insurance to non- citizens.

Johnson is a bold faced ******* liar.

The truthful answer:

They assumed they'd still be in power now, and they could use the expiration as an excuse to crank it up even higher.

They knew trump would be the nominee again, and we're sure they would beat him because of how "unpopular" the polls keep saying he is.

To get it passed in the first place, over Republican and conservative Dem opposition

The Trumpy lie that Democrats were demanding illegals be covered was debunked thoroughly - most recently by Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Trump now realizes that he won't be allowed to get away with making healthcare for millions of Americans unaffordable.

LOL speaking of stupid, utterly disingenuous, uninformed nonsense, which Republicans and conservative Democrats did they win over by sunsetting the subsidies in three years rather than 10 years?

People who crossed the border illegally and were given "legal status" by the autopen administration are currently getting subsidized by hardworking american citizens for their healthcare.

The American voters overwhelmingly want reject that. They want tjem deported, not coddled. That's why Trump won in a landslide

Mancin and Sinema

15th post
No, simp....they will go up to unaffordable levels if idiot Trump and idiot Republicans in Congress don't extend the subsidies....like 57% of MAGA voters want.
The costs were supposed to go down. We must ration medicine. And the Progressive Socialist Communists know this.

Your nonsense does not relate to Trump's attempt to deprive millions of Americans of healthcare coverage that is being resisted by Democrats and Marjorie Taylor Greene, and is supported by most Americans.

Nearly 80% of Americans want Congress to extend ACA Tax Credits

What the **** do you think the Democrats are doing right now?
Playing politics.

The cr keeps the lights on and then they can hash out hc in the appropriations process before the end of the year.

Schumer is fighting for his political life over a non starter issue.
