Republicans - Specifically Speaker Mike Johnson - are Doing a Poor Job of Explaining What Democrats Want in Their CR

Non-citizens who are here legally are barely over 5% of the Medicaid recipients. 90% of people who are going to lose their Medicaid are US citizens. This is just a distraction from the 12 Million US citizens losing their coverage.

The fact that you morons are so easily distracted by xenophobia is awesome. Its why it is so easy to control you. Hate and fear is a breeze to use.
That's absurd.

Which American citizens will lose Medicaid? Quote the part of the BBB that says they will.

So, what if the ACA was never enacted in the first place? Medicine became a business decades ago. We must make it cheaper at the source. Instead, we subsidize the potential patients. Lawyers rule the industry, and we do have some inept medical personnel.

The system leaves much to be desired, but In medical matters, I trust medical professionals over politicians.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, of all people, has exposed the Republican lie and Trump's scheme to deprive millions of Americans of healthcare coverage.

That's absurd.

Which American citizens will lose Medicaid? Quote the part of the BBB that says they will.
Dude it's well published - I used CBO numbers where I could. Why do think reversing the cuts means adding back to the budget? Because people were getting something. So yes. Millions will lose their healthcare.
  • Work requirements: "CBO estimates that 5.3 million people will lose Medicaid coverage due to new work or "community engagement" requirements, which take effect starting January 1, 2027." Many people, even those working will lose their coverage due to the onerous reporting requirements weeding them out. States that have this saw huge reductions in covered citizens. Fulltime home caregivers will lose their health coverage - mostly low income without the ability to pay for their parents/children care.
  • Provider tax restrictions: An estimated 1.2 million people will lose Medicaid coverage due to new limits on states' ability to use taxes on health care providers to fund their Medicaid programs.
  • Other provisions: Other changes, such as more frequent eligibility redeterminations and making it harder for dually eligible Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries to retain Medicaid, are expected to cause further coverage losses around 1 million.
ACA premium tax credits
The OBBB did not extend the enhanced premium tax credits for ACA marketplace plans, which are set to expire at the end of 2025.
  • Higher premiums: Without these enhancements, premiums are expected to rise significantly in 2026. KFF estimates that for subsidized enrollees, annual premium payments could more than double, increasing by 114% on average.
  • Fewer insured people: Experts anticipate that millions of Americans will drop their marketplace coverage because they will no longer be able to afford it. The CBO estimates that 4.2 million people will become uninsured as a result of the cost increases to them.
Other factors affecting insurance coverage
Additional factors are expected to reduce insurance coverage, exacerbating the effects of the OBBB:
  • Expiration of ACA rules: New CBO estimates from September 2025 predict that nullifying specific ACA marketplace rules, including automatic re-enrollment, will cause 900,000 additional people to lose health insurance.
  • Higher costs for everyone: Insurers are citing increasing health care costs and the expiration of enhanced premium tax credits as key drivers for substantial rate hikes in 2026, which will affect even those not covered by subsidies. The median proposed premium increase for 2026 is 18% nationally.

"... But I’m going to go against everyone on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year my own adult children’s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE, along with all the wonderful families and hard-working people in my district."
Marge sounding like a Dem. What next, trump sounding like a prez of all Americans? Nah.

  • Work requirements: "CBO estimates that 5.3 million people will lose Medicaid coverage due to new work or "community engagement" requirements, which take effect starting January 1,
Are you serious? that is what you lead with?

Why won't they just go to work or do their community engagement requirement?

If they choose not to well, that is their choice. I fully support work requirements and I would guess anybody else that works for a living would also. unless they are politicians or political activists who need the votes of those people who are unwilling to work.
  • 2027." Many people, even those working will lose their coverage due to the onerous reporting requirements weeding them out. States that have this saw huge reductions in covered citizens. Fulltime home caregivers will lose their health coverage - mostly low income without the ability to pay for their parents/children care.
Full-time, home caregivers means people who are well paid by social security to take care of their own elderly parents or children with disabilities. it is a huge scam that I see all the time with parents of special. Ed children having one after another to keep the money flowing. Families like that, the children are literally the breadwinners.

Enough is enough. Hard working americans should not be forced to pay for that nonsense AND give them free healthcare.
  • Provider tax restrictions: An estimated 1.2 million people will lose Medicaid coverage due to new limits on states' ability to use taxes on health care providers to fund their Medicaid programs.
So states like new york and california will not be allowed to tax doctors and nursesout of existence? Isn't running your doctors out of your state, a bad thing?
  • Other provisions: Other changes, such as more frequent eligibility redeterminations and making it harder for dually eligible Medicare/Medicaid beneficiaries to retain Medicaid, are expected to cause further coverage losses around 1 million.
Frequent eligibility determinations? Are you serious?

Have you ever had a job? Do you know how often my bosses determine my eligibility for my paycheck?

I'll pick apart the rest of it later. If I have time. If you answer this simple question:

Why did the Democrats who passed these huge increases in subsidies, make them temporary and not permanent? why would they leave it to a republican congress and president to make their giveaway permanent?

The shutdown has nothing to do with illegal aliens.
,
It is about Trump depriving American citizens of their healthcare coverage, and Republicans have begun to admit it.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) signaled a willingness to negotiate with Democrats on their health care demands, breaking with her party on an issue at the core of the government shutdown standoff.
In a lengthy post on the social platform X, Greene said she’s “absolutely disgusted” that health insurance premiums could double if the Affordable Care Act (ACA) tax credits expire, even as she stressed her strong opposition to the Obama-era legislation and to health insurance in general.

"... But I’m going to go against everyone on this issue because when the tax credits expire this year my own adult children’s insurance premiums for 2026 are going to DOUBLE, along with all the wonderful families and hard-working people in my district."

Obamacare was supposed to save people money, so why does it need to substitutes? Covid is over so the tax credits need to expire.

If you didn't get 10 packages of paper copies or 3" Medicare books every year it could cost less.

Everything is online WTH? Once GOVT regulations, lawyers. Guns and money get involved; its over.

Why is the FED GOVT into joeAVG Healthcare anyways?

Death row inmates given new livers or hearts, sex changes. Pills. All on your dollars. Suicide prevention on death row? Huh?

I am sure there is 10% waste or fraud off the charts in Medicare.

Never saw a kid wheezing. Suddenly 25% of Blacks carry free inhalers around. Mexicans swarm the CA ER rooms (citizens or new arrivals lol!). Why? GOVT involvement.

Once GOVT gets in, costs double on everything.

If they entered the country illegally, and were not made to return before being admitted legally, they are an illegal alien, even if they were "given legal status" as part of the mass illegal immigration the Autopen Administration encouraged.

AI makes me laugh.

Why did the Democrats make the COVID era increases in subsidies temporary, if they wanted them to be permanent?

We had Remain in Mexico. The autopen Society stripped it out day1. They caused all this fiasco as always. R just allow it.

Yes, but it is Schumer who is giving Trump the excuse to fire them.
Yeah.....very few Federal workers are as easily manipulated by Trump as you are. They see through that bullshit. But you are too simple and too pathetic to see through it.

Not winning.
Trump and Republicans certainly aren't. MAGA voters are going to be upset with either outcome....because their health care costs will skyrocket if Trump and the Republicans have their way.

Marge sounding like a Dem. What next, trump sounding like a prez of all Americans? Nah.
Greene has exposed the GOP lie that Democrats opposed to slashing the healthcare coverage of Americans are insisting on insuring non-citizens,

Holy Shit.

The little worm and Trump ass muncher is lying his ass off, as usual.

Can undocumented immigrants get 'free health care' or ...

6 days ago — Republicans are claiming Democrats shut down the government "to demand free health care for illegals." But is it true?

House Speaker Mike Johnson, a Louisiana Republican, told CNBC on the morning of the Oct. 1 shutdown that Democrats "want to restore taxpayer funded benefits, American taxpayer funded benefits to illegal aliens."

"We're not doing that," he added.

Undocumented immigrants are largely ineligible for federal health benefits, said Leo Cuello, research professor at Georgetown University's McCourt School of Public Policy.

They don't qualify for comprehensive Medicaid coverage, Medicare or the Children's Health Insurance Program. And they can't purchase federally subsidized health plans on exchanges backed by the Affordable Care Act.

Obamacare was supposed to save people money, so why does it need to substitutes? Covid is over so the tax credits need to expire.

That is only if everyone participated.
Why do you think vehicle insurance is so high, and climbing?
Getting uninsured motorist coverage is crazy expensive.

I think I found the real problem (one of them)

So Johnson wants to **** over millions of U.S. citizens with massive premium hikes plus ripping health insurance away from millions of Medicaid recipients because of this one provision? Bullshit. Trump, Johnson & the rest of those depraved ***** need to find a way to finance the tax cuts that they passed to benefit their ******* billionaire cronies.

They're blowing smoke up your ass & lying to your face with this immigrant healthcare bullshit.
NOBODY should be getting nedical care, assistance, funding or insurance from or through the Federal Government. NOBODY. It’s unconstitutional. It’s immoral. It’s stupid.

15th post
REJECTED by the American people and lost the elections Democrats can go F themselves. Them and their invading army of illegals.

You’re kidding right? The answer to your stupid inquiry is because of REPUBLICANS.

The Byrd rule (section 313 of the congressional act of 1974) limits the time a budget item can be in place with a 51 vote majority. The bill did not have 10 Senate votes from Republicans. You want to know how many it had? ZERO. Therefore the budget reconciliation rules wouldn’t allow it beyond 10 years.

You have very strong opinions for someone so uninformed. Maybe if you explain why you’d ask such an utterly disingenuous OR uninformed question I will address the rest of the nonsense in your utterly nonsensical post. Please dare me.
