Republicans - Specifically Speaker Mike Johnson - are Doing a Poor Job of Explaining What Democrats Want in Their CR

Please explain how eliminating ACA premium subsidies and major cuts to Medicaid would NOT result in the loss of healthcare coverage for millions of Americans, as predicted by the Congressional Budget Office.

"Playing politics" is better than my health care costs going way up.
Costs go up regardless of whether taxpayers subsidize your premiums. Subsidies determine who pays for your health care costs not how much the costs are.
But you're too stupid to understand that.
Why didnt they filibuster the BBB instead of letting it pass and then later holding the nation hostage?

Trump's cuts to Medicaid and ACA coverage are expected to significantly impact millions of Americans, particularly those who rely on Medicaid for health insurance...

The cuts are part of a broader effort to reduce federal spending on Medicaid and change eligibility requirements, which could lead to up to 15 million Americans at risk of losing coverage
There are no cuts to Medicaid. Funding to Medicaid increases under the BBB

To expect politicians to tell the truth, especially about their opponents, is totally living in a bizarro world.

Dem legislation is sunsetting the subsidies. There are no cuts to Medicaid. THe only Americans losing healthcare are the ones that refuse to satisfy the work requirements

They are going to double when the Obamacare subsidies end, simp. This is why 57% of MAGA voters agree with the Democrats on this issue.

Why didnt they filibuster the BBB instead of letting it pass and then later holding the nation hostage?
The Republicans changed the BBB bill in a way where the filibuster could not be used. You don't know what you are talking about, as usual.

The Democrats passed the law that ends the COVID subsidy for your premiums (not the costs),

Show me.
The Republicans changed the BBB bill in a way where the filibuster could not be used. You don't know what you are talking about, as usual.
Prove it.

Why should I pay for YOUR healthcare?

If you can't handle Trump's "bigbeautifulbill" depriving millions of Americans of healthcare coverage, you have failed to document how their coverage would continue.
Your boys created a temporary revision with a known sunset date.

Now it's ending.

The Democrats passed the law that ends the COVID subsidy for your premiums (not the costs),
Because that was all they could the Repugs in Congress to agree to.

Already did on a previous thread that you cried about.

Prove it.

Why should I pay for YOUR healthcare?
You're just too simple to talk to. Which explains why you vote for Trump and you are so easily manipulated. A simple-minded imbecile.

What does the percentage matter, if any of them are getting them?
Because it would either validate such a claim, or render it bullshit rhetoric.
If your claim is that zero people who crossed the border illegally are getting Medicaid and ACA, then you should have no problem with them being banned from getting it, correct?
I didn't make a claim. I asked a question. As far as I know, illegals are already banned from getting it.
If people who crossed the border illegally are banned from federal welfare of any kind, then why object to that being reiterated, as it was in the BBB?
Reiteration is more rhetoric. We already have enough of that.

Oooph, I struck a nerve.

Why would you want a simple-minded imbecil to pay for your healthcare?

Do you have a legit reason you cannot provide for yourself?

Speaking of stupid, utterly disingenuous, uninformed nonsense, why did you cult sunset these subsidies after 3 years, rather than the 10?
Dipshit the question he asked me was why weren’t they made permanent. I answered that. If you want a history on the rest I added that a few posts after. Jesus you guys are dumb.

So answer the question "dipshit" Why didn't your cult make the subsidies last 10 years.

Asking why the democrats aren’t better at getting things past the republicans isn’t an argument for the importance of a policy. If you want a history of the bill negotiations look up Manchin’s role in it and the overpowered small red state representation in the senate.

How would tax credits impact monthly payments like has been shown?

I believe the difference in payments is caused by the upcoming decrease in subsidies that were increased during COVID to offset other expenditures. Is that what you understand and if so do you have a link?

No, ACA was implemented, mostly, in 2014. The ACA was supposed to be an affordable alternative to private Healthcare. However, ACA enrollment nearly doubled due to the covid tax credits. I was simply suggesting that ACA wasnt very affordable, apparently.

It isn't just the loss of the COVID era tax credits causing ACA policy premiums to rise.
Other factors involved include increases in underlying health care costs driven by factors like higher hospital and drug prices, medical labor shortages, and increased demand for medical services, including specialty drugs. Plus, insurers are proposing the largest rate increases in years.

The bottom line is Repubs, when having a choice of helping to make health insurance more affordable for middle/low income households, instead prioritized tax breaks favoring the rich and corporations.

I won't deny hethcare is too expensive, especially for what you get, but government subsidies tend to make things more expensive, not less
