Republicans block "unemployment extension"

The GOP will go along eventually, once they get as much as they think they can from the Dems.

Both parties' candidates need the bill for the elections this fall.

It is going to take a real change of heart for the GOP to go alone with the bill. The bill was not suppose to make it to a floor vote, the floor vote was suppose to kill it, now it is being brought back from the dead. The GOP really, really wants it to just go away.

These are the people running this country.

Dems Shouldn't Let GOP Block Extension Of Jobless Benefits - Investors.com

Well, there they go again. Unemployment benefits were extended under Bush 5 times. And that was when USMB Republicans said the economy was doing so well. All those great deficit creating tax cuts for the rich.

if the obstructionist democrats would pass some of the republicans jobs bills they are holding up we wouldn't need the extension

Let me clarify that some. These billionaires themselves do not run the country. It is the middleman who takes their, and other people's money, and channels it into a political party that must maintain the front. I believe most all very rich give to charities and good causes. It is the lying Republican machine who robs the people on both ends. Trump, or course, is one of those who knows exactly what he is doing.

Well your place on this board is now cemented. Welcome, we were one troll short anyhow.

If you're so competitive then explain to me how the rich can hold you down as you claim they can. I have done very well for myself despite the fuckups of my youth and without interference from any outside group including the rich.

... Well, there they go again. Unemployment benefits were extended under Bush 5 times. And that was when USMB Republicans said the economy was doing so well. All those great deficit creating tax cuts for the rich.

The Republicans already are in trouble. The Party is dying. If they let the Democrats create benefits the American People actually can use to improve their lives, the Republicans won't have a chance. They've got to everything they can to obstruct the Democrats. It's the only chance of survival the Republicans have.

By numbers and numbers only the Democrat party is by far the fastest dying party in the country. You lost 4 million voters last election and were down the average growth of 3 million. 7 million voters missed last elections for Democrats, that was about a 14% loss to the party.

You've done well for yourself? Grats. How well have you done? Made it to around $200k a year? Paying the brunt of the taxes for both ends? Enjoying this wonderful infrastructure? Enjoying the nice clean air? Most everything you do and don't enjoy is a direct result of government planning in one way or another. Watching day after day of budget discussions a little over a year ago I can tell you this. The Republicans would rip the government, as you know it, down to nothing. What would your life be like then? A government the Democrats advocate would not be the socialist nightmare you have been lead to believe but a country of so much more prosperity. Republicans, like big business, are too short-sighted to see that future. Or rather I should say they are so greedy for a dollar now that they would sell everyone else out. Yes, even you.

Let me put it this way: Republicans have thrown up objection after only to fall back to one more objection. What is that about? Is it because they have serious and honest reservations against extending unemployment benefits, which they can not revel apparently? Or just maybe because voting for it would do just a little bit to admit that the video you present is a stereotype they have chosen for you to believe but is not the true picture of the state of this nation?

Liberals actually thinking the democrats give a shit about the poor.

How easy it is for the democrats to lie to these morons that actually think they care about the poor.

How stupid will liberals allow themselves to get?

Yes.. people who worked and paid their unemployment insurance out of their own pocket then put out of work by Republicans are lazy and don't want to work. That nonsense worked so well for Romney and Republicans in 2012.

We're not talking about the "poor" you idiot. The people need jobs & an improved economy not some more crumbs from the democratic dinner table.

I am not even going ask what "the democratic dinner table" is. (Actually, I just did.) No one will disagree with you about the need for jobs and a better economy but that is a different topic. Yes, we are talking about the "poor." It is about people who are very hard hit without that $300 a week for up to the next 3 months while they continue to look for a job. You seem completely unaware of how unemployment benefits actually work. A last point, 58% of Americans are for the unemployment benefits extension.

They also seem willfully ignorant of the discrimination in the job market. Out of work? Tough luck - somebody WITH a job wishing to leave it will be hired first. Over 50? Well, good luck then.

You guys have been saying that for years. What does it say that your party has control of our government and yet somehow a dying party is to blame for all the absolute failures that are occuring under this administration?

BTW why do you guys feel you can promise not to extend unemployment benefits as a condition to passing the budget and then after the budget is passed turn around and undue what you promised to do? Do you guys just have no integrity and honor? or do you somehow think that you shouldn't be kept to your promises?

Trying to defund Obamacare is not a jobs bill.
