As I saw this stories in different news feeds, it occurred to me that maybe they ought to publish a fitness test/goal for all Americans, by age and gender.

What should I be able to do, for example, at age 76? Tie my shoes? Get up off the couch at least once an hour?

My days of doing pull-ups are certainly in the rear-view mirror.

Is there any such thing out there?

Sec. worm.brain is 72. He's doing pull-ups.

He's also on hormone replacement therapy to help him maintain muscle mass. Anabolic steroids.

If I want to feel worse, I exercise.

TRT and anabolic steroids are not the same dosage, not even close.

I won the president's award for physical fitness back in 1968.

I doubt if I could manage a single sit up today due to my arthritis.

I can get my own beer

:confused-84: That makes no sense.

Could you rephrase that?
Testosterone replacement is not the same thing as taking anabolic steroids to get huge muscle mass.

The difference is essentially the dosage. This may help:

Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is a prescription to treat low testosterone levels in men (hypogonadism), while steroids are usually not taken to treat a medical condition. The terms “anabolic steroids” or “taking steroids” often refer to manmade steroids used by bodybuilders and athletes to build muscle and improve athletic performance.

TRT is bioidentical hormones made with the same compound testicles produce, and is designed to treat clinically low testosterone levels by replenishing exactly what the body has lost or stopped producing. Steroids are used to stimulate muscle growth. They typically elevate the body’s testosterone levels beyond a healthy amount and cause more serious side effects.

“Both TRT and steroids involve testosterone or related hormones,” says urologist Joshua Calvert, M.D. “But the goals and doses are very different.”

Testosterone is the major sex hormone in men. It’s important not only for sexual development but also for physical growth and the following body functions:4

 • Sex drive (libido)
 • Sperm production
 • Bone density
 • Muscle strength and size
 • Mood

I don't have a problem with this. It doesn't really go far enough in truth.

I'd take the weightlifter's philosophy on this entire thing.

You can't lift yourself out of a bad diet.

Fitness, without addressing nutrition, is just an exercise in futility.

As for us old frakers? Calestenics are our friend.

Trump demands kids pass a physical fitness test while this is the test that he continually brags about passing

It proved that he is not cognitively impaired.

Biden had dementia. He could not pass it.
Seems Biden did develop dementia and could no longer do functions he formerly could.

But Trump is Demented and has serious personality disorders that prevent him from accepting criticism, cause him to demand constant praise, make him strike out at anyone who fails to support him and makes him petty and vindictive

That's bullshit. Trump shows zero signs of dementia. Trump goes out to all these events and shows vitality. He jokes, he ad libs. He's natural and animated. Does his grandpa dance. He gives 90 minute and 2 hours speeches. He goes golfing.

That's not how people with dementia behave.
