While I didn't make MCPO rank, I am a lifer. Served over 20 years and now have a pension and benefits because of it. Was going to get out around the 12 year point, but saw the benefit of staying in. Best choice I ever made, even though I only made around 36,000/yr when I finally retired. Suckers in the civilian world have to work until 65 or so, I retired at 39.
