He's (apparently) a successful businessman and a three term congressman.
How much more does he have to accomplish before you deem him fit to run for POTUS?
BTW - I would never vote for the guy. But then, I will (probably) never vote for a Democrat or a Republican.
General who was instrumental in winning the last war.
Governor.
Senator.
Vice-President.
Something like that makes you somewhat qualified to run for President.
Congressman, not enough.
Guy who lost an election, not enough.
So then you are saying Trump should not have run?
Billionaire and TV personality apparently are enough to run for President.
At least the American people think so.
Yeah, but not according to you because he does not meet any of your above listed criteria.
Personally, I think it is totally irrelevant what you did to qualify to be POTUS. What matters is what kind of a person are you and where do you stand on the issues.
And I don't trust politicians AT ALL...only fools do, IMO.
So not being one is a bonus to me - not a negative.
And I disagree with the general's thing. Most generals make terrible leaders. They have MASSIVE egos, cannot relate to normal people (because they spend their whole lives in the cocoon of the military) and are used to having TOTAL control. That does not bode well for POTUS. Dictatorships, sure. But not POTUS.
Sure Ike was a good POTUS. But he was not an egomaniacal general (like Patton or MacArthur were), he was a logistics guy who was good at bringing people together.
