Renewables made up 92% of new generating capacity in the U.S. in the first half of 2021

Americans used more electricity generated from renewables than from nuclear and coal in 2021

Nuclear OR coal, not nuclear AND coal.
20 years ago I said we should be building nuclear power plants as fast as we could, but it didn't happen because liberals blocked it. Liberalism is the problem, not energy, not climate, not China, not Russia----------------liberalism will destroy the world if we let it.

Renewables made up 92% of new generating capacity in the U.S. in the first half of 2021

[...]"...data recently released by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA)...

FERC’s latest monthly “Energy Infrastructure Update” report (with data through June 30, 2021) reveals that renewable energy sources accounted for 91.6% – or 10,940 megawatts (MW) – of the 11,940 MW of new capacity added during the first six months of the year. Wind led the capacity additions with 5,617 MW, followed closely by solar (5,279 MW). Further, wind and solar were the only sources of new capacity additions in June 2021.

Renewables now provide more than a quarter (25.1%) of total U.S. available installed generating capacity. A year ago, their share was only 23.0%. Wind is now more than a tenth (10.4%) of the nation’s generating capacity while utility-scale solar is nearly five percent (4.9%) … and that does not include distributed (e.g., rooftop) solar.

Moreover, FERC data suggest that renewables’ share of generating capacity is on track to increase significantly over the next three years (i.e., by June 2024). “High probability” generation capacity additions for wind, minus anticipated retirements, reflect a projected net increase of 21,129 MW while solar is foreseen growing by 44,385 MW. By comparison, net growth for natural gas will be only 13,241 MW. Thus, wind and solar combined are forecast to provide roughly five times more new net generating capacity than natural gas over the next three years.

If these numbers materialize, by June 2024, renewable energy generating capacity should account for almost 30 percent (29.4%) of the nation’s total available installed generating capacity.

Look, you are obviously real gullible...so how about I sell you this bridge I have down in Florida......great real estate, plenty of water, wild life like you wouldn't believe....just send me a down payment and we'll get this done.

Yes.....Europe is going to kill thousands, if not 10s of thousands of people this winter.......because their solar and wind fantasy was implemented........

Federal subsidies... FREE MONEY...

Um No.
as you've seen me post for Years.
And what are you doing here?
You're 100% DIScredited on every topic you claim expertise on you slimy lowlife.

Wrong.
It's the opposite.
They relied on Fossil Fuels which are controlled by OPEC+Russia. (YOUR TEAM)
Renewables can and eventually will get them out of it though they will still need some NG.

Yes, of course to Both of your posts.
Russia cut off their gas.
We can have a world self-sufficient in power generation, or forever rely on OPEC+Russia.
(This flummoxes the RWers)

Germany, alas, doesn't have the USA's near unlimited supplies of Wind and Solar.
Though more is possible.
But all will need some backup like NG, or germany it's Dirty coal temporarily.
I figure 60-80% Renewable is where we're headed with the USA near the top of that range.
Renewables are now cheaper and going gangbusters.

The US has huge oil and gas reserves but the lefty loons won't let us exploit that and they refuse to except nuclear power. At the moment renewables can not keep up with power demand so the push for them is not about saving the planet it's about control.

O&G production Exploded under Obama.
In fact, so much we had a glut and a crash in price in 2015, (the Saudis turned on the pumps to break us and did)... and again in 2020 because of COVID. Prices actually went Negative both times.
Production is on the rise gain after the C19 crash, but like everything else there is a supply chain problem.
Drillers are still reluctant due to that history.
If the UKR war ended tomorrow (and PutOil let back in) the price of oil/NG would probably crash.

Biden is bowing somewhat to the Left and not selling many Oil leases
but his first year he Blew away Trump's total drilling permits with 3500 vs Trump's 2400.
So many that the left sued his Admin to stop them!

Most of those haven't even started yet. It takes time and scarce materials and labor.

Of course it takes many years between leasing and production, Maybe 5-10 for big ones.
There's a shortage of well workers, shortage of materials to drill, like everything else.
Biden's first year he was not listening to the Greenies.
Now he is more but production is still up and growing

And of course oil is mainly up due to Russia.
That again is worldwide problem for oil (OPEC+Ru), and "Our price" is not just a domestic one but an Intl one as oil moves around, especially ours. Most of our NG goes to EU or Asia.

IAC, the less we/everyone relies on Fossil Fuels the better, not just politically but health wise.
(Why Germany started going green 20 years ago.)
The planet is warming and consequences are starting to be felt worldwide, with much worse ones in the cards.

WE, the USA, have enough oil and gas to power our country for 200 years or more, in fact we have enough to power the USA and Europe, but senile ole joey cut off domestic production to appease the greenies, stupidly trying to buy votes.

you obviously have no idea how the oil and gas industries work. your propaganda post is nothing but bullshit and lies.
