Refresh my memory rgarding jubilee

Was it every seven years on the calendar (if I were smart I could sell my labour or take out a loan a month before Jubilee) or was it a rule that took effect seven years after a particular debt was taken on (no matter when you take your debt, after seven years you're absolved).

I don't recall.

I think thats fairly accurate, though I think people are probably going to be less likely to lend money just prior to jubilee.

Neither. Jubilee is the year after the seventh year of the seventh cycle of years, e.g. the 50th year.
Shmittah is the seventh year.

Go to the source and read it for yourselves. Most of the information on the Jubilee can be found in Leviticus chap. 25. Message boards are are a poor souce for getting accurate info.
