Thats simply because Democrats cannot govern nor control their idiots from causing billions in destruction

States run by Republican governors on average have economically outperformed states run by Democratic governors in recent months.

The difference in economic growth is likely due to the pathway of the coronavirus pandemic in the first few months and the economic restrictions imposed by Democratic governors.

Overall, Democratic-run states, particularly those in the Northeast and Midwest, had larger contractions in gross domestic product than Republican-run states in the Plains and the South, according to the latest state GDP data for the second quarter of 2020, released by the Commerce Department on Friday. Of the 20 states with the smallest decrease in state GDP, 13 were run by Republican governors, while the bottom 25 states with the highest decrease in state GDP were predominantly Democratic-run states.

Furthermore, the average unemployment rate across Republican states was 6.5% in August, compared to an average of 9% in Democrat states, according to an analysis of unemployment data by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank.

Republican-controlled Utah had the second-lowest unemployment rate in the country in August at 4.1%, and the second-lowest GDP drop, at just over 18% in the second quarter. Nevada, run by Democrats, had the highest unemployment rate, at 13.2%. It was closely followed by Democratic-run Rhode Island, 12.8%, and New York, 12.5%. New York also had a GDP loss of 30%, putting it at 44th in the nation.

“The GDP data confirms that blue states are severely underperforming red states, even if there are some outliers for sure,” said Stephen Moore, one of President Trump’s top economic advisers.

“It’s pretty clear blue states with the most severe lockdown had the most damage done to their economies,” said Moore, who is also a contributor to the Washington Examiner.

You read in what you wanted to read in. In reality, CA has the highest GDP so it has the highest to lose. It's still the highest GDP of all the states. Are you aware that the fastest economic growing state in the US is Colorado even in the Covid time?

You should also note that most of the Red States show up with a lower GDP loss. But the reason for that is, their GDP is so low that they don't have that far to go down and you can only go so far down before you hit rock bottom. The two states sitting at the Rock Bottom are W.VA and LA. And even as poor as LA is, it still found a way to equal the GDP percentage loss as CA. But CA is still liquid. LA isn't.

Nice try at only presenting what you believe makes your red states look good when in reality, the Red States are almost blowing away except for Texas.

I always get such a kick out of everyone pointing to California’s economy as being so big. Yet not one of them seems to remember that almost a third of that wealth comes from the federal government.
That money comes from federal bases.

He was attempting to blame it all on Democrats when in reality, most Dem States are far better off financially than most Red States with or with Covid. I think Texas would be a huge exception too that rule though. But it's always been a very peculiar state.

Nevada, run by Democrats, had the highest unemployment rate, at 13.2%.

Nevada has an economy almost exclusively tourism based. When you have a worldwide pandemic and there is very little tourism it doesn't matter who is running the state. You will have high unemployment. Our unemployment rate was pretty low prior to COVID hitting and we are still one of the fastest growing states in the country.

And right now, Nevada can't figure out if it's a Red or a Blue state. I really don't think it matters. But there is a phenon in some of the deep south states that separates them from the other states and it has nothing to do with being a Red or a Blue state. They have a handful of uber rich factory or manufacturing (could also be agriculture) that controls the lions share of the jobs. They make sure that they pay the absolute min amount of money for their workforce and benefits. Afterall, the unemployment rate is high and they can easily replace the workers even if they use illegals to do it. The Workers depend on some form of Government Assistance to make up the difference. This is called Corporate Welfare. So you end up with not only the unemployed, unemployable AND the employed on welfare. Hence the deep south red state has the higher percentage of welfare recipients.

Nevada is a Western State like Western Colorado. We also depend heavily on Tourist trade. Also like Nevada, we also try and get Industry. Again, like Nevada, we rarely pay minimum wage. Those that try and pay minimum wages get minimum workers. And those minimum workers aren't worth the cost. But in the South, there are no competing wage jobs except in larger cities like Atlanta.

Red states are outperforming blue states economically

Pelosi is exploiting the pandemic to bail-out the Corrupt Democrat States

And Rump is using it to bail out corrupt Red States. How about we stop bailing out Corrupt States. The First one we need to stop bailing out is the White House.

So why are all those red staters not moving to the rich and easier living blue states?

Because it's damned expensive to live there. You only see part of what life is like in the North Dem run cities. MOST of the City doesn't have these problems, has decent cops, great Mayors, etc. but the property values far outstrip the wages. We get them moving here as well all the time and we ain't a Red State nor a Southern State. But our Property Values are closer to the income levels and we have good Police and Government as well as good schools. Given time, it's going to cause a housing shortage and due to water, we really can't go willy nilly building that many new homes. So we do have out limits as well. But it's just not the South that these people are moving to. The Midwest small cities are getting the upsurge as well and at an even higher rate than your Red South is.

His facts were listed in percentages so that makes volume moot.
It’s obvious that lockdowns screw economies and democrats love lockdowns because they screw the economy. That’s their goal. And only so they can blame trump.

He was attempting to blame it all on Democrats when in reality, most Dem States are far better off financially than most Red States with or with Covid. I think Texas would be a huge exception too that rule though. But it's always been a very peculiar state.
You have the cart before the horse. Dem states are wealthier in spite of being democrat not because they’re democrat. Only wealthy people can afford to be democrat. The rest are subsidized.
