It's already happening.. Californians, and North Eastern have taken over much of Austin. New Orleans transplants have taken over Houston. San Antonio has been taken over by Mexican Immigration. Dallas is overrun by gangs.

But Texas is still conservative. Why? Because most of those folks coming here are coming here to work not to get on the welfare roles. Do we have welfare? Yes, but for the most part welfare is not a way of life for Texans. Why? Because cost of living in Texas is low, thus having a job means you can have your piece of the American dream here. 2-minimum wage earners in one family can actually do ok here.

In TX the answer was for the republicans to turn right (economically) and become more conservative (economically) like their constituents were demanding. That was the fundamental change here in TX. The result is a booming economy here. Which, shockingly, the voters appear to prefer.
