Rand Paul floats Elon Musk for House Speaker

Hilarious.

Welcome to chaos 2.0.

Can Mike Johnson Survive As Speaker?

Support for Mike Johnson to remain as speaker seemed to evaporate Wednesday:

  • Punchbowl: “The speaker election is in 15 days. There are members–more than a dozen–who assert that Johnson won’t be the speaker in the next Congress. It’s early. Let’s see how Johnson gets out of this mess.”
  • Politico: “Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, a frequent Johnson antagonist, on Wednesday became the first Republican to publicly say he will vote against him for speaker on Jan. 3. Other Republicans, including some who previously said they would support him, now won’t commit to backing him, despite Trump endorsing Johnson just over a month ago.”
  • WaPo: “Two other GOP members, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive topic, said the question of support [for Johnson] was likely moot: Based on defections that had yet to become public, Johnson would probably be forced out of the running before lawmakers would have to make up their minds on Jan. 3, the member said.”

Maybe trump will make Eric the Speaker. How awesome would that be!
The Establishment want him, which is why they agreed to the new Bill in record time apparently.

They do NOT want a Jim Jordan or someone else who will push for more strict spending.

The current president is a Democrat. That's going to change back to the Republicans in January.

Chuck Grassley, the previous president pro tem. 91 years old.

Past holder of the position is irrelevant.

We have to see who the Senators elect for the next Congress.

Rand gets it. Now THIS would help America for four years, no question. You have politicians who are beholden to others or just unconcerned about your debt and what it could mean for the world if it continues.

Is it possible for Musk to somehow get into politics and become House Leader? According to this article, yes, he can be.

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is floating Elon Musk to be Speaker of the House after the powerful, billionaire tech businessman helped torpedo a bipartisan agreement on a short-term spending bill.
Why it matters: He's the first GOP lawmaker to explicitly suggest Musk should be Speaker, and his comments come as Speaker Mike Johnson's (R-La.) bid to keep his job is under serious threat.

  • Musk has already emerged as one of the most powerful voices in politics and has become one of President-elect Trump's closest confidants.
What he's saying: "Nothing would disrupt the swamp more than electing Elon Musk," Paul posted on X on Thursday morning.

  • "[T]hink about it . . . nothing's impossible. (not to mention the joy at seeing the collective establishment, aka 'uniparty,' lose their ever-lovin' minds)"
  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) — a frequent Johnson critic — reposted Paul's comments, adding that she'd be "open to supporting Musk" for Speaker.
  • "The establishment needs to be shattered just like it was yesterday," she said. "This could be the way."
Between the lines: The Constitution does not specify that the Speaker of the House has to be a member of the chamber — though they always have been.

  • Non-representative names have been floated over the years during Speaker elections.
  • Paul has long been an advocate for slashing government spending, though he is in the wrong chamber to have much say over who will win the Speakers' gavel in January's floor vote.
Once AGAIN the DNC/RNC DUOPOLY PARTY corporations are making sure that both the lower & upper chambers of congress are close to the 50/50 SPLIT so the "inevitable" P-O-L-I-T-IC-K-N will put the fear of 'survival' into our American constituency. My idea of affordable fed g'ment is to start defunding the fed bureaucracies with the less than worthless EPA, Dept. of Education, BATF & TTF right @ the top of my list.

With 15 FED cabinet level departments & OVER *2000(!!!) FED AGENCIES pick your favorite agency/bureaucracy from the link below for termination & START letting your fed Representative KNOW that the agencies you have listed need to be defunded immediately! Less bureaucracies = less taxes for YOU!!!

Vivek would be good and he is an excellent orator in explaining details. My mind steers to details when I listen to policy and in my opinion Vivek should run a Master Class on his step-by-step detailed explanations.

That said, Musk is a unicorn. A fiscal conservative and a general social libertarian, on top of having a mind that doesn't stop.

DOGE should become a permanent fixture in Washington in some form, devoid of any persecution from politicians.

Having Musk as Speaker ties him up and keeps him from removing existing pork.

Might be the object of the exercise.

Musk does not want a government job. He wants to control things, not be one of many in the middle.
