Zone1 Question for Evangelicals

No, you're claiming that Evangelicals shouldn't vote for people because they commit sin, and you cite the Bible as your source for those sins. From where do you get the idea that if people vote for a sinner, the sin no longer matters, especially given that you would shriek bloody murder if the Evangelicals all voted as a bloc and insisted on their candidates meeting a certain moral standard?
You're the one who claims to go by what the bible says. I just asked a valid question.

That was a big one. No POTUS has ever done more to protect children than Trump. 5 historic peace agreements for another. Freedom of speech and faith for another.

As a person I’d hate to have him as a neighbor. But as a leader, I’ll take him.
Be specific. What has he done to protect children? How is freedom of speech different now because of trump? What has he done for religion?

You're the one who claims to go by what the bible says. I just asked a valid question.
And I've answered your question. Apparently, you don't like the answer, and that's because the entire premise of your question is flawed, so there's no way you're going to get an answer you will accept. When you can show me where the Bible instructs me to only vote for sinless people, you might have a valid premise to your question. Until then, you're just trolling.

You don't have to justify anything to anyone, especially me. I asked the question to better understand the evangelical point of view. Nobody seems to have an answer as to why those seven specific sins don't matter any more.

you've received answers. Cellblock2429 answered you on the 1st page.

Got it. So those seven sins listed are no longer sins?

What do you mean by "sin" ... do you mean "crime"? ... if you murder, you will be murdered ... that's still the case ... maybe not in your Ivory Tower, but here on the streets, "eye for an eye" still rules ... why so many are blind ... why so many of us die young ...

Basic human nature ... just in 10th Century BC terms ... our thinking has, you know, "evolved" since then ... it's the fittest ideas that survive ...

But if you want to be jealous, then go ahead and be jealous ... just don't say God allows it ... only Man allows such pettiness ... same with being gay, go right ahead ... marry your dog if you want ... no one except the local police will stop you ...

Which specific teachings of Jesus would forbid someone to vote for TRUMP!? Remember, I said specific. I'm looking for something He said that indicates we should not vote for or support a given politician.

Let's see who else they could ever vote for.

Quid Pro Joe? Nope, credible accusations of molesting his own daughter.
Obama? Nope, favored Islam, lied about obamadon'tcare and about the "stimulus" bill that didn't as well as the "shovel ready" jobs that weren't.
Bubba Clinton? Oh, heck no. What a horndog.

IOW, when do you accept that people are fallible and you're NEVER going to find the best candidate until you run for office yourself? If I vote for you, I lower my standards.

Where does the Bible instruct anyone on how to vote for politicians? Unless I'm mistaken, you profess to not follow the Bible, so why are you trying to say it directs people on how to vote?

I'd like to see chapter and verse, please.
What I want to know is if Jesus wants Christians to vote for anybody at all. He said: "“My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.”" Earlier He said: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." So unless you're one of those Christians who believe that Jesus' Kingdom will be established on Earth as soon as every elected office in America is held by Bible Thumping Republicans you may be wasting your time.

It's a legitimate question. Not my fault if you can't answer it.
A worthless person, a wicked man, Walks with a perverse mouth; He winks with his eyes, He shuffles his feet, He points with his fingers; Perversity is in his heart, He devises evil continually, He sows discord. Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; Suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.
This is a perfect description of Joe Biden, I vote with my conscience. Trump cares about America. Democrats want to turn America into some sort of European socialist country, no thanks. and were there a better option than Trump I would vote for them I voted for Cruz in the first primary when Trump won!

Bible Thumping? Tell us you hate Christians without saying the words, oooops too late!

Another true believer.

Jesus never talked about voting because His people had no vote. Israel was occupied by the Romans, who didn't give a flying rat's patoot what the Israeli's wanted. As for American Christians voting, to not let your voice be heard on policy is to allow those who oppose you an open field with no opposition. So, no, we absolutely know that we do not bring about Christ's kingdom here on earth, that's His job.

I just find it amusing when those who would scream the loudest should all the Evangelicals vote as a monolithic bloc for only moral candidates claim the Bible tells Christians to do just that.

So it doesn't matter that trump is representative of the seven sins God considers to be an abomination. Somehow that seems to belittle the traditional right wing claims of moral superority. Winning is more importantthan traditional christian beliefs..

When faced with electing fallible human beings to lead the country, you have to realize that none of them are going to meet all your standards unless you're voting for yourself, so you pick the one whose policies most closely align with yours. You do not elect someone who is openly hostile to your values.

Take just one polarizing issue, abortion. TRUMP! promised to put conservative justices on the Supreme Court and did. Many hoped that the Court would then overturn a bad abortion decision from decades past, and they did. Quid Pro Joe, OTOH, claims to be a Catholic, a church that vehemently opposes abortion, yet Quid Pro champions abortion. If we want states to have the freedom to legislate abortion according to the will of their citizens, we're NOT going to elect Quid Pro Joe. In this case, the choice was glaringly obvious, elect a jerk who was sympathetic to our values or a jerk who wasn't.

I would love to see the Evangelicals in this country unite as a monolithic voting bloc. They would elect the president every single time, and the usual suspects would be screaming bloody murder about theocracy and stuff. Then we would say, "well, we're just doing what you kept saying we should".
