Opposing Authoritarian Ideological Fundamentalism.
Interesting point by Hollande here:

Vladimir Putin is a “radically rational” leader who is betting that Western countries will grow tired of backing Ukraine and agree a negotiated end to the conflict that will be favorable to Russia.

The neat thing about being a heartless, sociopathic dictator -- at least theoretically -- is that you don't have to worry about public opinion. Putin can just keep throwing bodies at Ukraine until the will of the West weakens and we eventually cave. Just stay in the fight and wait if out. Then he gets rewarded for his invasion. I say "theoretically" because it's possible that Russia's increasing isolation and economic decay could motivate those around him to act against him.

Putin thinks the West -- which he has put in a terribly difficult position -- is soft. Looks like we're going to find out.

He might eventually get Ukraine, but he would have lost thousands of tanks, helicopters, planes, missiles and men. It'll take years to rebuild what was lost, and men can never be replaced. Good. That's all I care about.
A typically lazy and shallow reply .

The computers predicted this current situation years ago which is why Russia was fully prepared for the February '22 intended NATO proxy attack on Donbas which has so far proved so successful for Moscow .

Russia has no supply or distribution problems whereas the US and EU have no reserves for land fighting in terms of men and munitions .

Try DYOR instead of spouting random and fact less opinions .

Take a guess as to how long it will take the West to replenish the stocks of weapons, equipment, and munitions it’s thrown away in Ukraine…

Collectively, it doesn't matter. NATO as a group will still be stronger than Russia alone. America has proven before, that she can produce weaponry and gear at a furious rate in time of need.

How has it been successful for Moscow? Again, you spout the DYOR crap, but the answer is obvious. Russia is still stuck in the Donbass, fighting trench warfare and losing tanks and men every day.

War is evil. Humans will never learn. If there are aliens observing us from afar, maybe too far to travel to us: they are most assuredly writing in their own literature stories of how vile a species we are. "Thankfully we aren't like THAT savage planet"

.
You either invent things or you are stuck with a favourite Fake News source .
You literally have not a clue what is going on and just scribble nonsense to suit your pre-determined conclusions .

It looks as though the ragged last few in the main defence line for the US and Ukey Nazis are losing up to 500 every day.
Study establish standard Russian tactics and see what they are doing and why. It is like shelling peas presently.

And it seems that this dire situation will develop into a full blown slaughter house scenario as the Ukeys have almost run out of reserves .

Frankly , your low grade twaddle bores me rigid so I will let future events do the talking .

Tell Putin, that peace will be made at any time he wants, on ally terms.... :)
It's amazing, and telling, that many want to reward Putin for this ugly aggression.

Here's a "peace deal": Get the fuck out. Pay to rebuild the country you've demolished. Pay the families of the Ukrainian dead and maimed and displaced. Gather your bodies and your destroyed gear and carry it out. And then go fuck yourselves.

That's a fair "peace deal".

Some thoughts...

First, Putin's original plan was to topple Zelensky and replace him with a puppet government that would give Russia what it wanted. That isn't going to happen.

Now his best hope is that the west will eventually tire of the conflict and give him the few slivers of land he's managed to seize before the Ukrainians drive him out.

Except the economic resources he's lost far outweigh the value of the land he's seized.

Just like Afganistan and Iraq, those beacons of Middle East democracies we were building, we will eventually bail on Ukraine too when the laundromat shuts down and Ukraine runs out of bodies to throw into the meat grinder for our proxy war.
