The DNC was fined for an accounting error. They listed the money that went to the lawyer to pay for the Steele Dossier as "legal fees", not "opposition research". That's not an "funding irregularity". The right has completely lost their shit over this but it's really nothing. I don't know why the FEC issued such a huge fine, over this, because there was nothing improper about the purchase of the oppo.
