More precisely, we need a sane approach to the future number of humans on Earth. If we did not have religious leaders telling their flocks to have 10 kids per couple, we likely would be fine. But we do have that, and with that the human population has already crashed through Stage 1 of overpopulation = we are consuming too much finite land based fresh water, and that is causing fires.... GLOBALLY, not just in CA.

A sane approach would be

1. 2 kids only for child tax credit
2. have a 4th and you start paying taxes for it and every one beyond it
3. pass a law that forbids everyone, INCLUDING religious leaders, from advocating more than 3 kids per couple
4. a woman who has a fourth kid gets her tubes tied after the 4th


But as Bill Gates and WEF realized years ago, we will never get a sane response on this issue from religion, because all relgious leaders care about is increasing the number of moron "followers," especially those who suck in math and science, the way Huck wants 'em...

Conservatives are about Constitutional principles. We may want and work for a smaller, less intrusive government; however, we have to acknowledge that the government has a legitimate role to play in defending the basic human rights and lives of human beings who are too weak or otherwise incapable of speaking for or defending themself.
