Donald Trump says that the effort to remove him from the ballot in Colorado was brought by partisan Democrats. The facts differ significantly from what the former president has claimed.

In reality, the charge has been led by one former Republican legislator.

For most of two decades, Norma Anderson was in Colorado state government, first the House of Representatives and then the Senate, leaving the Senate in 2006. She served as Republican Party leader, both when they were the minority in the Senate, and the majority in the House — and she believes Donald Trump is ineligible for the presidency.

Her name, in fact, is the lead name on the lawsuit to take him off the ballot in her state, and she was researching the possibilities even before the 14th Amendment issue began garnering mass attention.

It helps that she keeps multiple copies of the U.S. Constitution in her house, and maintains familiarity with its contents. The Sentinel Colorado reported:

“Once she had dried her tears after watching rioters storm the Capitol, Norma Anderson sat down with one of the multiple copies of the Constitution she keeps around her house in Lakewood and reread the 14th Amendment…The evening of Jan. 6, she read the provision that prohibited anyone who swore an oath to ‘support’ the Constitution and later ‘engaged in insurrection’ against it, or provided ‘aid and comfort’ to its enemies, from holding office.”

“It doesn’t matter if someone is a conservative or not; what matters is whether you like and support Donald Trump. Republicans have lost their way with Trump, and this is not the Republican Party any more.”

She’s just not willing to bow to Trump’s brand of extremism or to stand idly by while her country does so.

On Thursday, her case against Trump will be presented before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Norma Anderson is a great American patriot! SCOTUS will hear arguments on Thursday. What do you think?

I think she is an ignorant old bitch that wants this country destroyed.

You guys can't be so dense that you don't grasp that the Republican party now consists of Trump's supporters and RINOs. The RINOs are struggling to get rid of him and his influence but that isn't going to happen. If the Republican party survives at all, it will be controlled by MAGA Republicans and people like this "conservative" will become indies, or Dems, or choose a new designation.
Either way, continuing to behave as though most Republicans reject Trump's agenda, is no more convincing than when you still act as though anything Fox News says about Trump is coming from a place that supports Trump. They proved they were against him on election night, 2020.

Funny how this dumb bitch can’t articulate what these “extremist” policies are.

For instance the ultra lib Denver Post says:

Last year, Anderson was a leading Republican supporter of Referendums C and D –

the ballot measures that called for letting the state keep more tax revenue

and boost spending. Referendum C passed and D failed on Nov. 1.

What the heck does that mean?

“Keep” more tax revenue sounds like libspeak for raise taxes

Thats not very conservative
