Manufacturing jobs did go offshore, but they did increase under (Obama and) Trump as the US produced more energy.
And we were told long ago by Obama that the lost manufacturing jobs would never return.
"Our changing economy" is not some kind of all-powerful force which we have no control over; it's quite the contrary, and Trump is right when he opines that energy production is pillar of a strong economy and robust manufacturing sector.
