President Trump orders attack on Venezuelan drug runners at sea

I listed dozens of US citizens and their stories in another thread who were illegally arrested and detained by ICE due to their appearance and in some cases even deported. I dont think that bothers you. I think the ends justifies the means with you red hats.
They need to have due process to make sure stupid mistakes like deporting our citizens doesn’t happen. I love the idea of deporting illegals, but it has to be done legally.

I also just came upon another basis for the legality of this military action.

In brief, the author contends that my analysis (that it is legitimate and authorized law enforcement against the crime of drug smuggling of fentanyl * into the U.S.) is off the mark. He argues, instead, that it was a fully justified and legal military effort to defend the United States.

* highlighting that drug to clarify that my prior reference to “cocaine” was mistaken. Fentanyl is vastly worse, in fact

If Trump isn’t going after a country, who is Maduro? MAGA double talk!
Did the US sink a ship belonging to the Venezuelan navy? Maduro said his government has nothing to do with the gang several months ago. Trump is waiting for you, very leftist, and Maduro to walk into his trap.

If this was illegal, why would the administration be broadcasting it?

They can't get enough controversy?

I don't think Trump gives a shit and he shouldn't. I certainly don't after sitting through four years of bullshit by Democrats from the vaccine, inflation, rewarding criminals and illegal aliens day in day out.

Due process? For what amounts to piracy on the high seas?

And if not “piracy,” then (minimally) maritime crimes on the high seas?

Here’s some useful info:

Are you saying they were trying to take over another vessel? That is news to me. Again. We are talking about the death penalty. They may not be US citizens but we are the USA and they are not a combatant. I am not trying to be ridiculous, I am trying to be pragmatic. That was a huge step to order the death of people with no due process and who were not military combatants.

So you weren't mistaken when you proclaimed in utter shock, "No new wars"? Than you're dishonest then. Those are pretty much the only avenues you left available for yourself. That's on you.
How am I dishonest? Is it a war or isn’t it? Quit dancing around the question.

Illegal immigrant who murdered innocents count?
No one deserves to be killed without due process and a conviction. Not sure what that has to do with the President deciding the death penalty for people.

Post 342 explains it pretty good. Try reading it.

You read the comments? Mentioned 9/11 terrorist law, I agreed.

/—-/ If that’s a fact, then I apologize. But, they are a tiny fraction of illegals deported. And any mistakes were quickly corrected.
That's the issue mistakes werent quickly corrected. And the fact that they are happening with such frequency shows the government doesnt care about our rights - only its task, and that is dangerous my fellow citizen. The last thing you want is that.

Here was my post:

ICE is indiscriminately picking up brown people based on their gut. Here is a few specific examples. There are hundreds.

MIAMI (AP) — A U.S. citizen was arrested in Florida for allegedly being in the country illegally and held for pickup by immigration authorities even after his mother showed a judge her son’s birth certificate and the judge dismissed charges.

Juan Carlos Lopez Gomez, 20, was in a car that was stopped just past the Georgia state line by the Florida Highway Patrol on Wednesday, said Thomas Kennedy, a spokesperson at the Florida Immigrant Coalition.

Leonardo Garcia Venegas, 25, was at his construction job in Foley, Alabama, when officials arrived to arrest workers there. Garcia Venegas – who was born in Florida to Mexican parents – began filming the arrests with his mobile phone before officials reportedly knocked the device out of his hand and tried to arrest him as well.

A Los Angeles-born woman who was arrested by federal officers during an immigration raid earlier this summer recounted the experience she said left a lasting impact on her.

Andrea Velez said she was left traumatized after she was slammed to the ground by agents and endured rough conditions while in custody. She shared that she still gets flashbacks to that day and has been working from home since her release because of her trauma.

Julio Noriega, a 54-year-old U.S. citizen who was among those picked up in sweeps in early January in Chicago and placed in handcuffs.

Noriega had been looking for work when agents picked him up and took him to an ICE processing center before looking inside his wallet, according to court documents. The Center and the ACLU of Illinois attorneys said he was detained for 10 hours and then released without his arrest ever being documented. Lawyers argued DHS violated a 2022 settlement requiring agents have probable cause to believe that a person is in the country illegally before arresting them and then reporting it.

Recently a solar corporation wanted to build a 1700 acre operation on prime farm ground near us.

So many citizens showed up demanding the project be shelved the county commission voted it down

A huge win for the people

Smart people. It's a huge waste of land and amazingly expensive.

I “am” saying what I actually said.

And I wrote about it in greater detail on this very thread.

If we deem this a criminal matter, then international law permits us to stop any effort on the high seas to smuggle in these deadly drugs. And assuming that commands to the vessel had been disregarded and warning shots had been given, then the Coast Guard was also authorized, by our laws, to interdict that fleeing boat by firing directly into it.

If we instead view it as exclusively. Military operation, that too is authorized by law. (And they sure as were the enemy seeking to poison our people with a large amount of fentanyl.)

Either way, the missile (?) made them all go bye bye. I don’t weep for them and I don’t criticize America for defending itself against the actions of a criminal cartel.
