Another subtle teaching in "To Kill a Mockingbird" was the dignity of not responding to hateful idiots. I would imagine that would apply to those who hope to create a food fight and/or otherwise derail this thread and get it kicked into the basement.

One of the weaknesses--at least some of us feel it is a weakness--of our President is that he never learned that lesson and he tends to publicly insult the idiots. Sometimes I think that does bring down his personal approval ratings, but I don't know. Sometimes he is effective in provoking others to expose their stupidity.

You are pretty closed minded, what this does is remove the 125% tariffs that China had on our goods, that means that American products will cost less to a market of 1.4 billion people, many who could not afford American products. This means the US companies will need to produce more goods, creating more jobs and increasing US business and shrinking the trade deficit, pretty simple math. It also means good in the US that come from China will cost less allowing American companies and consumers to order more. It is pretty simple.

As of today the stock market has wiped out those loses and the 401k’s are doing well. Sorry to crush your lies.

It brings more US items at competitive pricing, it opens the door for more people to buy US products, that is why businesses are happy about this turn of events. Why doesn’t he sign an EO reducing the price of eggs, steak, cars, home insurance, etc? Because nobody would follow it and he has zero leverage to do so. Just like with pharmaceuticals.

I’d be extremely happy with such a move if it had been the product of negotiation and the drug companies were on board.

I agree with you...China loves that your blob caved so quickly and the rollback of tariffs will keep the Chinese employed. As for US products going to China...last year, we bought $300B more than we sold them before the trade war started. So we're essentially back to the status quo of last year.

The only thing that has changed is that US Consumer confidence is in the gutter thanks to your petulant hero and some americans had their savings wiped out by the trade war we just lost.
