President Trump Goes Off on Governor “Newscum,” Cancels Funding for California’s Failed $130 Billion “High Speed Train to Nowhere”

The Trump/MAGA meltdown is DEEPLY satisfying. :auiqs.jpg:
He's just lashing out now. Like a wounded tiger...with no claws..or teeth. :)
Thats an odd thing to say

Libs have been defunded so MAGA/trump’s so-called “lashing out” is getting results

Newscumb is incompetent.
Incompetent? I wouldn't say that. Kowtowing to literally anyone and everyone so long as they aren't a conservative? Of course.

The high speed rail line has ALWAYS been a joke of a project. Too many stops, immenent domain of too many farms and lower income neighborhoods, and in the end....no high speed whatsoever. You could drive 55-60 mph and get between LA and San Francisco faster. Or just take a ferry and get there just as fast. (It's 8 hours minimum)
Flying is faster every time. (One hour+ depending if they stop in San Jose or not)
No train is ever going to beat that.

We are talking about literally billions of taxpayer's money given to people who provided NOTHING productive.

Never been more than a single mile of track laid....one mile. That's it.

Why would taxpayers from 49 other states be funding a railroad meant to only serve Californians?

They can pay for that themselves.
I checked with the AI Grok and found this! It is disturbing how Congress wastes our money. No wonder why America is trillions in debt.

The federal government has funded California’s high-speed rail project primarily through grants allocated by the Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), with significant portions coming from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law of 2021. These funds do not always require a direct, project-specific vote from Congress for each allocation, as Congress often appropriates broader budgets or authorizes programs that allow agencies like the FRA to distribute funds for specific projects based on established criteria. Here’s how it works:
  1. Congressional Authorization and Appropriations: Congress passes laws that authorize and fund transportation programs, such as the ARRA, which provided $8 billion for high-speed rail projects nationwide, or the 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which allocated $36 billion for competitive rail grants. These laws give the FRA authority to award grants to projects like California’s high-speed rail without requiring a separate vote for each specific grant. For example, California received about $3.5 billion from ARRA in 2009 and an additional $3.1 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law in 2023 for the Central Valley segment.

  2. FRA Discretion: Once Congress appropriates funds for a program, the FRA evaluates applications and awards grants based on project merits, compliance with federal guidelines, and alignment with national priorities. California’s High-Speed Rail Authority applied for these funds, and the FRA approved them, as seen with the $3.1 billion grant in 2023 for construction between Merced and Bakersfield.

  3. No Direct Congressional Vote for Specific Projects: While Congress approves the overall budget or program, individual project funding decisions are typically delegated to federal agencies. This means no specific congressional vote was needed for the California high-speed rail grants, though Congress can influence funding through oversight or by passing legislation to block or redirect funds, as some Republicans attempted in 2023.

  4. Political Context and Oversight: Funding decisions can become contentious, as seen with the Trump administration’s attempts to pull $4 billion in 2025, citing cost overruns and delays, or the Biden administration’s restoration of a $929 million grant in 2021 that Trump had previously revoked. These actions reflect executive influence over agency decisions, but they still operate within the framework of congressionally approved budgets.

In summary, Congress provides the funds through broad legislation, and the FRA allocates them to projects like California’s high-speed rail. Direct votes on specific projects are rare, but Congress can intervene through targeted legislation or oversight, as seen in Republican efforts to defund the project.

This process raises questions about accountability and efficiency, especially given the project’s cost overruns (from $33 billion to over $100 billion) and delays (no track laid despite $15.7 billion spent by 2025). Critics argue this reflects poor federal oversight, while supporters claim the project’s long-term benefits justify continued investment

Money which ended up in the accounts of girlfriends and brothers-in-law of those involved in planning and authorizing the project.
The previous governor was hell-bent on that train. I remember it well because they were planning to use a track that was a mile or so away from our house that is used for regular freight trains and also take land and houses from people in the process. There was an uproar, and they quietly went away for years, only to resurrect this pie in the sky train that ballooned up 10 times over what they said it would cost. With only a mile of fake track laid and a cost of billions, no one knew where the original billions went to.

This is like them spending 6 billion on homeless and nothing was done. When Newscum was asked, he said it went to the cities. When pressed, he said he had no clue what the 6 billion went for.

Same guy who crowed that "immigrants" weren't going to be left out, and he was going to cover them for free under Medicaid. He planned on Biden or Harris winning so he could keep getting reimbursed by the feds and had the gall to put his hand out to Trump, who has now told him No More.

As much as we complain… this is a system that WE created.

We vote for the same crooks every election. We expect government to solve our problems. We expect government to shower us with gifts and take away from those we don’t like.

We can’t do those things. We can’t give them the power to endlessly spend our money on our name and then expect to be taken seriously when we complain that they’re stealing.

The Government is a spoiled, rich man’s wife. Until we take away their credit card, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

More winning! This is the benefit of having a sharp business man as our bold leader of these times. He is accomplishing so many things, and saving the country money. This project was wasteful spending from the get go..

Just more petty bullying from the Rapist in Chief.

Or we could raise tax revenue to first world country levels and stop using the credit card. This was $4 billion dollars for an infrastructure project. Not $300 million to protect Mar A Lago.

Even leftard governors like Biden-Harris supporter John Kasich of Ohio think its a stupid idea.

I had a lot of problems with Kasich back when I lived in the Mid West.

But he was spot on correct when he cancelled Ohio's planned high speed rail line between Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati

So … elected and appointed crooks steal our money and your solution is to give them MORE of our money?

You’re ready to run for office.
Oh, I'm talking to a zero-hedge "taxes are theft" expert.

Yeah, you...uh... hold that thought, professor...
