California Gov. Newsom withdraws lawsuit against Trump's cutting high-speed rail funding

California drops lawsuit seeking to reinstate federal funding for the state's bullet train

A lawsuit would probably uncover Minnesota-levels of corruption associated with rail contracts.

It would be inconvenient for Newsome’s presidential hopes.

Democrats aren't stupid.

This fraud is intentional.
The DOJ should open an investigation. All the money allocated went to Newsom's friends and family. Remember how the mofo excluded Panera Bread from paying workers $20 an hour because his pal owns the company?

And other democrats.

The vast majority of high level democrats are on the take from these scams.

A majority of high level democrats are on the take and in on the fraud.

Let's face it, personal gain is one of the main reasons most politicians get into politics at some point, not for some "noble" cause. Giving dignitaries rich gifts and bribes is a common practice around the world. The USA is one of the few places where being a dignitary is "just a job" and a temporary one "just for the people."

The main reason why democrats hate and fear Trump so much is because he is their kryptonite:
  • The guy is already filthy stinking rich, he has no need to "get" rich, so, he cannot be easily bribed. And he was not given wealth, he went out and made it himself, so he has a personal ethic that goes against a politician's grain.
  • He has seen them from every side and knows the democrats inside out--- one of the few to have done that, not signed aboard, and still lived to talk about it.
  • He doesn't like democrats and isn't interested in playing their game. They actually /insulted/ and mocked him when he promised to run back in 2015, back when he questioned Obumma's phony birth record.
  • Dems really tried to screw the guy over, take away his business, his freedom, and his very life even, so now they know that Trump always gets back, he has the heart-punch, and he's a counter-puncher who always hits back twice as hard as he was hit.
It is only a matter of time now of where and when. Donald Trump is a shotgun loaded for bear aimed right in their faces.

Originally, it was supposed to be 800 miles long but it' been scaled back to 170 miles. The California High Speed Fraud has been going on for nearly 20 years and they are only now BEGINNING to lay tracks! So yeah, Libtards open up those wallets! BAHAHAHAHA!!! :auiqs.jpg:
Think about that, $128 billion for 170 miles. $720 million per mile. Californians are the dumbest rubes in America.

Trump comes at things from a totally different angle than the usual politican.
As you said, he was already wealthy. So there's that. He's not a Pelosi or Omar who've made millions withi insider information or government programs.
But he wasn't always a Republican. He used to be a fairly liberal Republican or somewhat conservative Democrat. He gave money to Hillary Clinton's campaign when she was running for Senate, if I recall correctly.
I think a couple of things happened:
1) Obama mocked him at the Correspondent's Dinner to his face.
That, as it turns out, was a BIG ******* MISTAKE. Obama, the arrogant asshole that he was, laughed out loud at the podium, saying that Trump would never be President.
I could watch that footage a thousand times and never get tired of it because I think it was then and there that Trump said to himself, "Oh, yeah? Watch me, asshole."
2) After his first term in office, the lawfare war against him was unprecedented in American history. One after another: Fani Willis, Letitia James, blah blah blah ... fake case after fake case, all filed in heavily Democrat areas that had voted 95% against Trump.
And then the assassination attempts.
Add them all up. What do you have?
You have one determined, pissed off guy with a renewed sense of purpose and enemies he wants destroyed.
And I don't blame him one bit.

Brilliant post. 👍

In those positions, you have to rub elbows with the right people if you want the right doors opened! Besides, I was a democrat early in life, everyone around me was. There is no better way of knowing the failing of democrats and their theory than to know it from the inside and see it blow up in your own face.

Yep, that was a moment to remember when Barry did his "at least I /AM/ a president" shtick! With mic drop.

I knew right there and then that Trump would make him pay for that---

He's not a very good politician.

Well, he's certainly not a traditional politician. And I don't look at him as if he's a politician. He's in a class of one.
Having said that, he's gotten elected President of the United States (at least) twice. And that takes one helluva lot of skill.

Trump is a master at studying people. And as a big mover and shaker in the New York City area, he rubbed elbows with some big hitters. He was always the brash outsider. But he learned a lot about their strengths. And, more importantly, their weaknesses. He's fantastic at that. ;)

Me too.

Yet another win for President Trump. He cut funding for California's high-speed rail after it was found to be billions of dollars in the hole. California Governor then sued the President, but it looks like he's caved and dropped the lawsuit. Now they're going to try to get donations to continue building their boondoggle.

California drops lawsuit seeking to reinstate federal funding for the state's bullet train

"California has dismissed a lawsuit officials filed against the Trump administration over the federal government's withdrawing of $4 billion for the state's long-delayed high-speed rail project

OAKLAND, Calif. -- California this week dismissed a lawsuit officials filed against the Trump administration over the federal government's withdrawing of $4 billion for the state's long-delayed high-speed rail project.

The U.S. Transportation Department in July slashed funds for the bullet train aimed at connecting San Francisco to Los Angeles. The Trump administration has said the California High-Speed Rail Authority had “ no viable plan ” to complete a large segment of project in the state's farm-rich Central Valley.

The authority quickly filed a lawsuit, with Democratic. Gov. Gavin Newsom calling the federal government's decision “a political stunt to punish California.”

The authority said this week it would focus on other funding sources to complete the project estimated to cost more than $100 billion.

“This action reflects the State’s assessment that the federal government is not a reliable, constructive, or trustworthy partner in advancing high-speed rail in California,” an authority spokesperson said in a statement.

The Transportation Department did not respond to a request for comment on California dismissing its lawsuit. President Donald Trump and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy have both previously slammed the project as a “train to nowhere.”

“The Railroad we were promised still does not exist, and never will,” Trump wrote on Truth Social in July. “This project was Severely Overpriced, Overregulated, and NEVER DELIVERED.”

The authority's decision to drop the lawsuit comes as the group seeks private investors to support the bullet train. The project recently secured $1 billion in annual funding from the state's cap-and-trade program through 2045.

The program sets a declining limit on total planet-warming emissions in the state from major polluters. Companies must reduce their emissions, buy allowances from the state or other businesses, or fund projects aimed at offsetting their emissions. Money the state receives from the sales funds climate-change mitigation, affordable housing and transportation projects, as well as utility bill credits for Californians.

The rail authority said its shift in focus away from federal funding offered “a new opportunity.”

“Moving forward without the Trump administration’s involvement allows the Authority to pursue proven global best practices used successfully by modern high-speed rail systems around the world,” a spokesperson said in a statement."

Now if they can just convince the local yokels to pony up $128 billion.

You are damn right he did. Those Federal investigators can't get there fast enough to stop that dirty fraudster AKA democrat frontrunner. It is probably because he never received that good ***** slappin he has been over due for 20 years.

FYI, the original est. for the rail was $33 to $45 billion. The final cost is projected around $135 billion.

Bondi and Patel better show urgency and investigate Newsom and his kleptomaniac friends and family.

When will the state break even or earn a profit say if the train does go into operation? Never.

In China they would have executed corrupt officials sabotaging the development of their high speed rail

In the same timeframe, China now has over 20,000 miles of 250mph railway
