Why do you think this agreement closes the door on reimposing sanctions or even attacking them in the highly unlikely event they can hide any sort of nuclear capability from us? Listening to some of you it is apparent you are unaware of the industrial scale of a nuclear missile program. It would be like trying to hide an entire petrochemical industry.

This agreement allows them to build their nuclear weapons. This agreement gives them the ability to purchase intercontinental missiles. This agreement gives them $150 Billion now and allows them out of the sanction box they were in. This agreement provides for the US to PROTECT their industrial sites against military or cyber attacks. In other words, if Israel attacks their sites, this agreement provides that we go to war WITH ISRAEL. This agreement precludes inspections at their Parchin site. What did we get out of this agreement? We were better off without one.

You might want to get your details on the deal from someone other than whatever hysterical conservative pundit you listen to. The facts are that the only significant opposition to this deal are the warhawk conservatives in America, Israel and Iran and they regularly lie about the state of the threats to their respective countries to keep people scared. I am familiar with the outline, it does nothing that even resembles allowing them to build nuclear weapons. They will give up 98%of their enriched U235 stockpile, half of their centrifuges and permanantly disable their heavy water facility. They will be limited to low grade enrichment suitable only for nuclear power. Inspectors are very good at their jobs BTW, not going to be able to hide any serious activity from them. UN sanctions slam back in place if they do not comply and military action is always on the table. You mischaracterize this as some sort of defeat when sanctions worked exactly as planned and we got most of what we wanted.On the other hand it looks like Obama is defusing another one of your favorite villians without massive destruction and bloodshed, sucks to be you I guess.

What could go right? The deal could work, Iran becomes a more moderate nation and we do not have to kill half the country and prove the conservative Iranian leadship right. Have you not even considered the effect of no more sanctions and threats of invasion on an Iraninan leadership that has survived thirty years and justified a lot of hardship mostly because or sanctions and very real foreign threats?The ball is in their court now and they will quickly run out of excuses. I believe they will, if only to avoid the certainty that Israel would get to strut across the world stage saying: "See?We told you they were not to be trusted, let's bomb them immediately". Not to mention, the sanctions go right back in place, their international trade will collapse and war becomes almost a certaint. I do not think they want a nuclear program that badly anymore but are not going to just submit to the west. Giving them a way out that saves face is a diplomatic masterstroke that is, of course, lost on you.

The more you actually know what an active nuclear weapons program entails and the capabilites of both inspectors and our espionage services to detect illicit activity the more ludicrous the idea that they could hide it from us by any other means than denying access to inspectors. If they do that the deal is broken and we go back to how it was with an excellent justification for sanctions and maybe military action. In short, if inspections are allowed they can hide nothing as huge as a nuclear weapons program.
