You don’t shit on a state and win it. Guaranteed.
Can you give an example?

I would never say never. Vermont, a state as liberal as California, has a very popular Republican governor. The question is is Steve Hilton a moderate or a MAGA nut? If he is moderate or in the mold of an old-line conservative, he probably has a good chance of being elected governor.
Sure. California. Last republican winner was Arnold Swartzenegger 20 years ago.Can you give an example?
I don't see that happening. 50% + 1 in the general election wins the governorship. That doesn't favor Republicans in California.California has a real shot at electing its first Republican governor in 20 years. Steve Hilton is a phenomenal candidate. I've been following him on X and he really drives home the problems facing the state and he does it in a non-controversial way. It will obviously be a tough battle being a state so heavily Democratic and being a midterm election that will likely favor Democrats, but Los Angeles came within four points of electing a de facto Republican mayor not that long ago, so it's doable. I think the lawlessness and homeless problems are finally hitting home with a lot of traditionally Democratic communities.
Democratic former Rep. Katie Porter (Calif.) and Republican former Fox News host Steve Hilton are at the top of California’s primary for governor, new polling shows, after Vice President Harris decided against a bid.

Emerson College Polling found Porter in the lead with 18 percent support, followed by Hilton at 12 percent. In California’s nonpartisan system, the top two candidates move on from the primary to the general, regardless of party affiliation.
Republican Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco, Democrat former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Republican-turned-Democrat Rick Caruso were next up, with 7, 5 and 4 percent, respectively.
The rest of the field, including Former Biden Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Xavier Becerra, Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis (D) and former state Controller Betty Yee (D), earned just 3 percent or less each.

A unique situation has few previous examples. Perhaps look at Alabama after the government made them integrate. They haven’t voted for a liberal since in a statewide election. Now try answering my question.

It seems as a homo white liberal posing as a black. You're a millstone around the necks of thinking humans.California won't be electing a Republican. It is time you Republicans started looking at some truths, most notably is that Trump is a millstone around the neck of any Republican running for office..
hmmm, california and the election aside [gop had no chance] that's not a prediction, it just repeating/parroting what ya hear on tv, passing it off as your own thought(s) assuming you could always explain it away if ya had to...aka plagiarismI don’t make predictions but I would be less surprised to wake up and find my head sewn to the carpet than I would if a Republican wins a statewide election in California.
Youre a whack job. Your are quoting a post from 6 months ago claiming its talking points and plagiarism to say (and let me quote myself) “I’d be surprised if a Republican wins a statewide election in California”.hmmm, california and the election aside [gop had no chance] that's not a prediction, it just repeating/parroting what ya hear on tv, passing it off as your own thought(s) assuming you could always explain it away if ya had to...aka plagiarism
hmmm, what does any of this have to with my claim which you somehow completely over looked altogether? the part that would put the lie to what you are now claiming...ya plagiarized chevy chase from christmas vacation and yet that is the part you completely omitted... care to explain that? as the distraction strategy has just blown up on ya.Youre a whack job.
