Pope Francis has criticized couples who choose to have pets instead of children as selfish

I have a son who's wife does not want children because her brother is schizophrenic and she's afraid that any children she'd have would also be. I wonder what the Pope would say about that?

I respectfully disagree. The world has far too many people. It's no wonder global warming is going through the roof.

I respectfully disagree with you for conflating two issues that have nothing to do with each other.

Actually, there are. We came from a more exalted place, heaven. There, we were just spirit children waiting for the opportunity to come to the earth and receive physical bodies so that we would be able to ascend again to heaven and await for the resurrection for time and all eternity. Then, we would have the chance for exaltation and eternal increase with spirit children of our own. So, yes, it is selfish to not have children unless it would be better not to for righteous reasons. This is where the Pope should clarify.
