Philip Seymour Hoffman is dead

Well, those of us who are more sophisticated and cultured do. But I'll bet you mourned the loss of a NASCAR driver or a professional wrestler.

What a ******* condescending prick you are.

Don't watch NASCAR
Don't watch wrestling

If you think some fat sloppy guy pretending to be someone else is a contribution to society then I think you should be looking a little bit more at your own issues
So you are not a patron of the arts. Your world outlook reflects that. Narrow of thought and shallow of compassion, you are a sterling example of what happens when one does not experience enough life to know better.

Look! There's a big shiny thing!

that should keep him enthralled for a while.

The arts?

Yeah movies like red dragon is art.

Oh and don't forget that life changing Along came Polly. And you don't anything about my world outlook. I know that you however think you are sophisticated. That's a hoot btw much funnier than any of Hoffmans movies.

Actors are a dime a ******* dozen in fact I'll bet your life won't change one bit because this fat slob offed himself.

"society" won't even hit a speed bump.

It's as if you criticized Mark Twain for The Tragedies of Pudd'n Head Wilson and ignored The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Not really.

The fact that you think Hoffman can even be compared to Clemens is funny though.

Acting is not art. it is a skill like any other. Any actor's role in a movie could be played by any other actor with like experience.

Sad that someone so talented had to be found dead with a needle in their arm.
So successful but so sad.

Plumbing is a skill. Acting at the level Mr. Hoffman acted is an art.

This is what happens when people become drug addicts. Very sad

I feel bad that such a talent was wasted. Hoffman could have afforded any treatment in the world including buying a freaking island if he wanted get away from the junk. He chose to walk on the wild side and the parasites who live off celebrity lifestyles let him kill himself.

Cocaine junkies are one thing but you have to work hard to be a heroin addict. You need to trust the source and cook the crap and stick it in your vein with hopefully a clean needle. Heroin is a bad habit and it is amazing that an Oscar winning actor wasn't smart enough to realize it and the parasites who surround all celebrities didn't do something about their golden goose.

Strange thing about this to me is that he was a Hollywood high roller.

Why would he not have been getting pharmaceutical grade morpheme, dilaudid or whatever, rather than smack off the street?

Not sure about this I just got in but thought I heard on TV they found 50 bags of heroin in his apartment.

Yep - and a charred spoon, and on the envelopes was a stamp from a brand of heroin the cops say they haven't seen for nearly ten years.

Smack off the street was probably stronger. Whoever his dealer was would surely have known who they were selling it to?

I don't see actors as contributing much.

I assume you don't watch films, then? Seeing they are all sloppy useless people pretending to be someone else?

So strong that he probably got a hot shot, which wouldn't have happened with pharm grade stuff.

15th post
Hoffman was clean for 20 years, until about a year ago, when he went into rehab.

I wonder if he would have realised that in the seconds before his passing. It could have been an air bubble in the needle, too, that killed him. I guess they will do an autopsy and see exactly how badly the addiction had a hold of him.

No air bubble. He got a hot shot.

There has been a lot of that going around the east coast lately.
