Pete Hegseth Says Air Force Restoring Tuskegee Airmen Videos Amid Backlash

Because some people, left to their own devices won't do the right thing.
well that's why we booted the Demklan from office.

I mean, seriously, you think some General is gonna be such a racist, bigot, they'd treat people differently, but for some sort of "policy" hahah

But if it makes you feel better, the DoD has have core values: duty, integrity, ethics, honor, courage, and loyalty.

That's the policy. So, if you think being a bigot and treating people unfairly is part of that, then you don't belong

To most racist you are probably right.
Does that mean you're a racist?

Hint, the air forces DEI was part of their history

DEI is not history, it's a program of blame seeking and false gravitas giving over sins of the past, that people these days do not and have not suffered through.

maybe you didn't notice, but the Tuskegee airmen were a segregated squadron.

Like the buffalo soldiers, the first step on the DEI road.

No, the first step on the road to de-segregation and legal equality.

DEI is about putting a finger on the scale and favoring whichever group can complain that they are the "most oppressed", ironically while at the same time being the biggest bullies.

DEI is the usual result of progressive policies going too far, because progressives don't know when to fucking quit.

No?
Giving a historical example of where minorities were given an opportunity to fill skilled positions is an important lesson
Same applies to women, Hispanics, Asians, gays and Muslims

You don’t think that helps in recruitment?
The video had DEI content unrelated to the Tuskegee Airman. It would help if you libtards would learn to read your sources.

Do you have a reading comprehension problem? Where did I say they weren't segregated or were treated equally? What I did say is that were skilled and effective pilots who met high standards (unlike many DEI hires in the past few years). Their performance helped push the integration of our armed forces shortly after WW2. Why do you want to paint them as victims instead of heroes who served our country?
Democrats, specifically FDR refused to put blacks into white units. And they had a hell of a time locating blacks who could be trained. FDR did not like blacks at all. Truman finally allowed blacks to serve in white dominated units.

I knew once this became widely known it would be reversed, it doesn't take much of a "public outcry" when you are talking about race in America, especially honoring those who fought for this country under segregation.
Not a Transgender or Woke member was with them.

They would laugh in your face for pushing this crap

Problem for Hegseth and his master Trump is they issued a sweeping ban on DEI without clarifying what they mean.
They threaten any officer who implements DEI or anything similar

It is impossible to seperate DEI from EEO and AA
EEO corrects discrimination. Affirmative action is discrimination. Discrimination doesn't have any place in the military, either for or against.

What would help you very much is to actually study blacks in the military during WW2. Have you seen even one black in the D day operations? Fact is when the Tuskegee Airmen were formed, all they had to train them were whites. For most blacks fear kept them from flying.

Blacks do better in gangs. This works to help them overcome fear.

The Air Force says it has reinstated training material on the Tuskegee Airmen and Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASPs) after a brief delay to revise it in line with the Trump administration's rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies.

I wonder why you need to restore something that folks claimed was not needed.
Thisis what your own link says:

Chief of Staff Gen. David Allvin said in a statement Monday the initial course removal, which affected the videos, occurred because the service, like other agencies, had to move swiftly to comply with Trump's executive order banning DEI content and ensure "all remnants of the outdated policies" were removed, with "no equivocation, no slow-rolling, no foot-dragging.

Allvin said the stories of both groups will continue to be taught in basic military training: "The historic legacy and decorated valor these Airmen embodied during World War II and beyond will continue to guide our newest recruits and all who serve in our ranks."

So not sure what had to be restored.

You claimed:

NOPE:

Charles A. Anderson

Background: First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt visited Tuskegee Institute and went on a flight with Charles A. Anderson commonly known as Chief Anderson, a self-taught pilot. Anderson had established the civilian pilot training at the Institute in 1939.

Eleanor Roosevelt visited the squadron in 1941, and insisted a black pilot take her up, and that photographs would be taken. Those photographs helped convince President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to send the unit into action, first in North Africa, and later in Europe.
Not what was stated, not what I responded to

You actually proved my comment true

Equity means providing extra help to those who need it.
Like providing handicapped ramps.
Hard to apply across the board in the military
Well, glad you agree wiht Trump then. we hardly need airmen in wheelchairs.

Do you understand that FDR himself segregated the military. FDR had a super hard time locating blacks who could be taught to fly fighter aircraft. His wife gets credit for hurling those scared blacks into flying fighter planes. Notice Bombers were not their ability.

Key points about the Tuskegee Airmen:
  • Role: Primarily functioned as fighter escorts for American bombers, protecting them from enemy fighters.

  • Nickname: "Red Tails" due to the distinctive red color on the tails of their planes.

  • Notable Achievement: Despite facing discrimination, they achieved a remarkable combat record with one of the lowest loss rates among fighter escort groups

Tuskegee Airmen was an early example of DEI

MAGA is embarrassed to find that out
Not the way you pretend. FDR was in no mood to train blacks to fly airplanes.
His wife came up with the idea having whites train blacks. And it took a long time to get blacks ready to fly combat roles.
