As a retired veteran who served far longer than Hegseth, I have always been opposed to women in combat. This was the one point of contention in which I was in full agreement with Rush Limbaugh.

He asked if it was possible for America to have the best military in the world with all men. He then asked if it was possible to have the best military in the world with all women.

The conclusion about the efficacy of putting women in combat was obvious.

I saw the error of this policy firsthand and it still grinds my gears we have women in combat. We had to literally adapt to accomodate them and that was not good at all. It put everyone's lives in danger, not just theirs.

There are a tiny handful of women who can pass the physical test, but that in no way indicates their ability to endure long term combat conditions.

Call me sexist. I call it like I saw it firsthand.

Hegseth's beard policy is more subtle. He wants everyone to be as clean shaven and camera-ready as he is. Anyone on active duty knows the targets of this policy are black soldiers. Black men are the predominant sufferers of problems with shaving close. Their facial hair is too curly and they suffer ingrown hairs if forced to shave close. It is an extremely painful condition.

Hegseth wants them out, and there is absolutely no combat readiness reason for this. None.

It's pure racism.

Diversity is not the problem, it never was. It was hijacked by political activist engineers and used to force unwanted and unneeded policies on the public. This is what caused the divide, trying to force someone else's beliefs down your throats. It has especially detrimentally affected the military where the entire mission depends on cohesiveness but has also ruined our population. It has watered down merit, destroyed the education system, and created distrust in the workforce, and for no apparent reason except to divide the people.

Um, when the military desegregated in the 1940s, there were people who screamed it was the end of the military.

During the War on an Emotional State, women were in the front lines. 166 women were killed in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I should also point out that the PT test was the same for a supply sergeant than it was for an infantryman.

Front line combat roles. Obviously, all soldiers are in danger if they are in a war zone, even if on base, but many of those base jobs don’t require the same physical attributes.

No. Diversity doesn't work because everyone clings to their own. The United States was an experiment. Could an entirely NEW people be created out of people from all over the world, could they be given and forced into a new shared culture and a new shared history and formed into ONE people. It worked. It worked for a long time. It just stopped working when we encouraged people to cling to their own culture, traditions and history. It stopped working when we encouraged diversity. There is a lot of truth to that. Look at the SF bay area. You always hear how diverse the bay area is with people from all walks of life. Reality tells a different story. The bay area is very segregated when it comes to where people live. Whites and Asians don't have a problem living among each other as with Hispanics in certain cities and neighborhoods. Where blacks and Hispanics are the majority, you won't find much Asians and whites. The segregation accelerated through the decades. This segregation also applies to public schools too. Even Gavin Newsom prefers to live among all whites.
