GOP senators losing confidence in Hegseth amid Pentagon turmoil

The most unrecognized shortcoming of this new generation of politicans and ''faces'' is, in my view, that they lack a fundamental grasp on the history of the world beyond the cookie cutter stuff. They particularly lack a grasp regarding the historic relationships of various nations long before America even came about.

I think that in some respects they're starting to be met with the consequence of this partcular shortcoming. But even when met with it, I still don't think they understand the relevance.
"In 1917 they say, right? The great the great pandemic certainly was a terrible thing where they lost anywhere from fifty to a hundred million people. Probably ended the Second World War. All the soldiers were sick." - Donald Trump

“In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified army out of the revolutionary forces encamped around Boston and New York, named after the great George Washington, commander in chief. The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis at Yorktown. Our army manned the air, it ranned the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rockets’ red glare, it had nothing but victory." - Donald Trump

“Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more, I notice.” - Donald Trump

“Many great American soldiers, both of the North and South, died at this spot The casualties were so great that the water would turn red and thus became known as ‘The River of Blood.’ ” - inscription on a plaque at Trump's Potomac golf course about a fictitious battle.

Donald Trump repeatedly calls his 2016 election victory "“the biggest electoral college win since Ronald Reagan.” It wasn't even close to that. Trump won 302 electoral votes. Obama won 365 and 332. Bill Clinton won 370 and 379. In three elections, Donald Trump has never achieved 50 percent of the vote. Donald Trump is a very small man.

“People don’t realize, you know, the Civil War, if you think about it, why? People don’t ask that question, but why was there the Civil War?" - Donald Trump

And less experience than any other Secretary of Defense, ever! By a long shot.
In essence, we have a TV game show host and a TV talk show host running the most potent military on earth. Let's hope to God neither have the real codes to America's nukes. One protects Pedos as a side gig and the other loves him some strong booze from time to time.

There were a few SecDefs who had no military experience.

Robert Gates, for one.

Donald Trump is a lame duck president, and an idiot.

The lickspittle Republicans in Congress are waiting until after the mid-terms to grow a spine.

Too late.

Wrong.

I have far more military experience, and a lot more medals than that loser. I recognized his type the moment I laid eyes on him.
you were not in the thread yet were you?...and you can be anything on the internet g...even a decorated war hero....

‘A growing group of Senate Republicans are losing confidence in Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s leadership of the Defense Department, and some GOP lawmakers would like to see him “move on,” though they say it’s President Trump’s call. Senate Republicans who spoke to The Hill on the condition of anonymity say Hegseth wouldn’t be confirmed to head the Pentagon if he were renominated by Trump today, and they say senior staff turmoil at the Defense Department under Hegseth’s leadership is a major concern.

Republican defense hawks in the Senate aren’t happy about media reports that Hegseth pushed popular Army chief of staff Randy George to resign in early April, and they were surprised and disappointed to hear that Hegseth fired Navy Secretary John Phelan this past week.

One Republican senator who requested anonymity said there have long been questions within the Senate GOP conference over Hegseth’s lack of experience managing a large and complex bureaucracy, as well as leeriness about his unconventional and often brash leadership style.

The lawmaker, however, said confidence in Hegseth has dropped among Republicans because of his battles with senior military leaders who have strong relations with policymakers on Capitol Hill.'

That Senate Republicans had confidence in Hegseth to begin with is damning.

And most – if not all – of these Republicans losing confidence voted to confirm Hegseth.

Republicans are incapable of sound, responsible governance.
Interesting, nothing said about the drinking problem?
