First of all, the money to buy those things were diverted from social programs of the United States Military like housing. Rump was never authorized for that transfer.

Second, each year there is 1.4 million allocated to build or improve the southern border. And that has been in place since 2006 when Bush Jr got it approved by congress and it's never been rescinded. And all Presidents have done on an average of 71 miles per year of construction plus improvements on the border from that time foreword. Except for Rump who spent the money and a lot more and most of it just sat unused. You bought another lie from the Grifter.

Every military housing project was planned and money funded for at least 5 years in advance.
All Trump asked for was for congress to fund $6 billion to build the wall, and Democrats refused to allow it. Eventually they funded $13 billion late in his administration but then shut it down before completion.
The Dems are too busy trafficking children as sex-slaves and cheap labor..
The Pentagon has been diverting their funds from national defense to diversity awareness programs and climate-change programs.

They were demolishing Korean War and Vietnam War era buildings and building expensive HVAC climate controlled buildings that are much more expensive to maintain under the Bush and Obama administrations. They purchased thousands of flat-paneled TVs to be placed all over these buildings so they could spread their diversity propaganda to the troops.
I worked in Civil Service for 19.5 years off and on, over several administrations, and the waste was tremendous. Most of the building construction was earmarked during the Bush Administration.

One thing is consistent. GOP presidents get the money for the military and the Democrats misuse it and turn it into an unorganized clusterfuck.

MYLES TRAPHAGEN DIDN’T need a government presentation to tell him that border wall construction was kicking back up. He saw everything he needed on a recent visit to the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge and the Coronado National Forest, near the town of Sasabe in southern Arizona.

As the borderlands coordinator for the Wildlands Network, Traphagen had visited the area many times before. It was among the sites he examined in an extensive report published in July documenting the environmental impact of the border wall expansion under President Donald Trump — President Joe Biden paused the construction shortly after his inauguration.

“It’s feeling like it felt during border wall construction with Trump.”

Traphagen spotted a new staging area and water holding tanks under construction. Fixed to the wall were new signs citing an Arizona trespassing law. A security guard at the scene told him construction was resuming. Later, a Border Patrol agent ordered him to leave the area.

“It’s feeling like it felt during border wall construction with Trump,” Traphagen told The Intercept. “I hadn’t felt that on the border in a year and a half, and now it’s like, oh, shit, here we go again.”

E-verify is a flawed system because because workers and businesses can easily circumvent it. E-verify only checks the identification papers, not the worker. An illegal immigrant worker can easily pass an E-Verify check if he hands somebody else’s identification to his employer. There was an audit for the federal government conducted by Westat that showed about 54 percent of undocumented immigrant workers were approved to work, just by stealing IDs or borrowing them from friends or family members.

And then there's the fact that even though some businesses use E-Verify, many of them simply look the other way. It's not their job to inspect and verify documents because that often opens them up to potential discrimination claims. No executives have been charged by the federal government for illegally employing workers, and states rarely enforce E-Verify mandates against businesses.

Now if you look at the real cost of illegal immigration, the amount of revenue they generate is less than the federal and state expenditures we're paying because of illegal immigration.
