Paul Skenes pulled after pitching 7 no-hit innings

I think it's great Skeens has a manager who is looking out for him. Take a look at the Dodgers pitching staff decimated with injuries.
yea thats great, but when a pitcher has no hitter going into the 7-8th inning he should be able to go the whole game....that doesnt happen that often....2 more innings aint going to hurt the guy,,,

I hate this about baseball today. Let the kid pitch.
He's a rookie. Look what happened to Koufax and countless others whom they let pitch well over 100 pitches a game. It brought an early end to a lot of careers.

Very few like Nolan Ryan, Steve Carlton, Phil Niekro knuckleballer were excepts and the few exceptions.

WHen a pitcher is tired, their mechanics start to break down, and they are muscling pitches is precisely when they can do the most damage.

Im sure all you internet experts know better than the people getting paid millions of dollars to know more than you on this subject.

the kids young 2 more innings aint going to hurt him....so if it was up to you we will never see another no hitter or 1 hitter for that matter...

Yeah Im sure YOU are right and the people paid to know arent...

What good did pitching a 7 inning no hitter do for the team?

The Pirates lost. A guy who threw a 8 hitter could easily have the same outcome.

This guy is the future. You don't gamble your future on an essentially meaningless game.

Doubt it, although he'd be extremely valuable. He's probably the best young arm in baseball and you don't to blow his arm out.

If you don't waste him on meaningless games the Pirates shouldn't be pitching him at all.

It's true. They could give a full season in the minors since he's only pitched 12 games there, but they probably want to give mlb experience.

In meaningless games.

This discussion is meaningless.

It wasn't my excuse for pulling him. If he would have thrown the no hitter the stands become packed at his starts.

As it is now, a few more will show up but nothing like the idea of being perhaps able to watch a no hitter.

You improve the team by filling the seats.

He's the fucking future of the team. I don't understand how anyone can be so short-sighted given what we know today.

Given what we know today is $$$$. Guys used to be able to go complete games all the time.

WTF happened to pitchers like Koufax, Denny McClain, and countless others after going 300 or more innings a season?

The same thing that happened to pitchers like Shane Bieber and many hundred others that never did go high pitch counts.
