People who need towing capacity will buy a RAM or Silverado or something. This is for people who want to go to the nursery on the weekend and buy sod and fertilizer, or the person who wants to transport a new refrigerator home from Lowes. That's actually the far bigger market.

EVs are truly a successful diversion.

They diverted money and research away from hybrid vehicles.
A hybrid vehicle can be multiple times as efficient as any ICE vehicle, have less weight reducing tire wear, and have just as great of range and power as any ICE vehicle.

And yes, this includes tractor trailer rigs. They usually experience at least 20% fuel savings while having increased hauling capacity. (Drive by wire is good tech).

Current EV models get waivers for being overweight. They also use tires 2x as fast as current ICE vehicles. (Extra weight eats tires).

So....yeah it worked and nobody is willing to do anything anymore for efficiency tech after the billions of dollars lost in the EV marketplace. Not consumers or manufacturers.
