Our Economy Can't Take This, Get it Over With

Yeah, who cares if two million Americans die?

7,500/day x 365 days = 2.9 million a year.

That already happens.
Yeah, so what's another 2 million. No big deal!

Put down the crack pipe, kid.

Fuck you.

You have no way of know what will happen.

You have very limited data in closely confined regions.

Shove your pipe up your ass and don't put your eye out when you do it.

We have many experts that are promoting different theories, including media that is trying to claim to be biggest expert of all. In reality there are no experts on COVID-19, scientists maybe know more, but don't know everything. In this case, they're just beginning their research, and in the absence of hard data, all we have are their theories as mere hypotheses.

History teaches us that no disease has been overcome by quarantine measures. Quarantine can save time, but not defeat the illness.

I would agree.

But we know who it hits the hardest. We should focus on them.

The downside to the current approach is when people tell the government to fuck off and head out.

You can't keep everyone pent up like this.

It's bullshit.

We used to quarantine sick people. Now we quarantine people who are not sick. Welcome to Utopia.
It's because the USA Fd up, and did not have enough tests, to know who to Quarantine.

Thus trying to shelter in place, everyone.

THAT would not be the case, if we began testing in January.

All the what ifs in the world can't change the fact....

Are you listening to yourself?

How can you have tests for something completely new and unknown? You'd think that test is available immediately when new disease strike?

How can you begin testing in January when China, place where this shit started was covering up their own outbreak like it didn't happen?

Go back and look at your posts from February (I just did), and you'll notice that you didn't even talk about Coronavirus before mid month.

Guess what people! Approximately the same number of people are expected get infected whether we shut down the economy or not. Shutting everything down is simply slowing down the infection rate, but it also stretches out the infection period. This is an important strategy to use as to not overwhelm our health care/hospital system.

The virus is killing lots of people. That being said, a great depression will result in many negative effects including death also. So there is some risk reward balancing to be considered. Hopefully we can bounce back after being shut down for a month. Three months will most likely put not just America but the world into a great depression which could result in more deaths than the virus. We need to be able to take enough common sense precautions to not overwhelm our health care system while at the same time keeping our economy going as to prevent a great depression.

You can't keep everyone pent up like this.

It's bullshit.

And people are within their rights.

Also, is "current approach", the right one? Which approach is right one anyways?

WHO advocates to confinement of the population, without medical visits at home. They assume that children become healthy carriers of the disease and infect grandparents in whom the disease can develop acutely.
China practiced population containment coupled with a home medical visit every two days. Those suspected of being infected were taken by force to hospital. This empirical method is consistent with the decrease of this disease. This does not mean that it has had any effectiveness, nor does it mean that the disease has been definitively eradicated, since they still have new cases. Plus, they're cooking the numbers.
Swedes are trying a another approach. They consider that only the elderly need to be protected and that there is no evidence that the disease is spread by children. They are therefore only confining the elderly and not closing down schools or businesses. Their infection numbers are in par with rest of the Europe/less Italy and Spain.

Which approach is right, assuming one of them is right? That is impossible to know until all three methods have been tried and tested over a long period of time.

Again, we must look back in history and realize that an epidemic has never been beaten by quarantines, but only by hygienic measures. Quarantines do not protect populations in which the disease is already present, they can only save a little time.

What most controversial is that our political leaders are taking measures that they consider to be the most radical, the most traumatic, compared to those already taken by their neighbors. The escalation of these measures teaches us the level of panic of our leaders, not the means to fight the disease. And, as always, some political leaders are instrumenting the crisis according to their personal agendas.

Just do what our moms did when one kid had chicken pox, expose it to everyone and get it over with. We can't afford to let Democrats ruin our economy.

How many lives are you personally willing to sacrifice for Trump? Give us a hard number. Which of your relatives or loved ones will you give over to appease your god?

what a fricken stupid thing to say. and coming from the party that supports the killing of millions of unborn humans every year (and the vast majority of them are minority children) the party of tolerance , right?

90% of people who get corona will either not know they have it or will have very mild symptoms. Those who die are those who have other major health issues or compromised immune systems.

tell us, how many of those people would have died anyway? don't know do you? But to get an accurate count of the corona mortality rate we need that number.

every new post from you, dumber than the last one

SAYS THE IDIOT CALLING CORONAVIRUS THE FLU-

I never called it the flu. I said we should compare the number affected by corona to the number affected by N1H1 and also compare the actions of Trump vs Obama on each.
and, I'm sorry but your posts on this topic verify your idiocy.

Should we shut things down again from November to March to decrease the number that die from the flu? Ten's of thousands of lives can be saved.

There is a middle ground to be found. Hiding under a rock for six months is not the solution.

Are you serious? We can’t count the mortality rate because some of the people that got COVID and died might have died anyway?
What kind of a moron are you?

The WHO had a test created from the RNA profile released by the Chinese of the virus on January 10th, one week later, for Countries to use..... it was actually just 4 days, not e even a week.... countries could get the test specifics from them, then find pharmaceutical companies to make it for them. We passed on it, and for some reason decided that we wanted to design our own test, that included testing for covid and Sars instead of just COVID..... our created test ended up being a dud, it failed to work.... it took too much time to figure out it was a dud.... by the time they created a new test, all the components to make the test, were bought up by all the countries in the world who had a test early.

We still do not have all the components and reagents to make the tests we need, 2 and a half months later, than the WHO....And are limiting who can even get a test....

(H1N1 had a test in 3 days.)

Which has put us in the dire situation we are in with the virus and our financial woes.

And again, another leftist lie.

We did not rejected tests from WHO, as you leftists are claiming, they were not offered to US but to countries that doesn't have virology lab power that widely exists across the United States.

Liars gonna lie, no matter what.

The test profile was available for any country that wanted it, to make their own test kits from it.

They did not produce the test kits, they offered the specifics for their developed test based on the RNA profile given to the world by the Chinese on January 10th....

We never asked the WHO for their developed test specifics, we for some reason, wanted to develop our own.... which ended up being a failure.

We still would have had to manufacture the test kits, even from the WHO's developed test... but if we had gotten the WHO's developed test on January 15th, we could have secured the components and reagents needed for the test, early on, before the pharmaceuticals ran out from all the other countries buying them up... creating a test for a virus like this or influenza takes just a few days, it's getting it produced that we are struggling with.

For the retards amongst us, the virus has been here since at least January 2020 and we’ve all been exposed to it.
I actually have a friend of the family who is in her uppers 90s who tested +, had a fever and recovered a few days ago.

Attempting to return the country to normalcy now will not work because cases will skyrocket and we will find ourselves economically right back where we are now but facing a much larger epidemic. The idea of letting a deadly virus that is very contagious run it's course is crazy. Neither the people of this country nor the government is going to risk the lives of thousands or possible millions of people in order to shorten a recession that has already started.

Since the virus is spread do to the close proximity of people, separating people will reduce the number cases and deaths. It has been proven to work for centuries. Today it's working in China, South Korean and we are starting to see signs of it working in the US. Once we get on the downside of the epidemic, states will start relaxing restrictions based on their progress at containing the virus.

Does everyone get the flu at the same time, overwhelming hospitals, healthcare workers and protective equipment? COVID does.

We need to take the remains from some of those who pass on with health issues and study the heck out of their bodies for reasons beyond the known.
